Dyno Might!

Mobile Game Experts Nominated In Multiple Awards

Dynamo Games, the Scottish mobile gaming studio is finishing 2007 on a high note, with nominations in two of the world's most high profile gaming awards; the International Mobile Gaming Awards (IMGA) and the Scottish BAFTAs.

Dynamo has two nominations in the IMGA: The Crystal Maze, Dynamo's game, based on the cult television show, has been nominated in the Best Licensed Game category. Championship Manager 2008, the critically acclaimed mobile version of the football management game, is nominated for the Excellence In Gameplay award.

The International Mobile Gaming Awards are open to companies around the world. Dynamo is the only UK company to be nominated and one of only two companies in this year's competition to receive more than a single nomination.

Championship Manager 2008 is also a nominee in the Interactive section of the 2008 Scottish BAFTAs, alongside Crackdown, the Xbox 360 game from Dynamo's Dundee neighbours Realtime Worlds.

Dynamo has established itself as the world leader in the creation of football management games for mobile phones. Championship Manager 2007, which was released in April, received rave reviews, with scores of 9/10 and 98%, plus 'Ice Cold' and 'Game Of The Month' awards, as well as quotes from journalists such as “Make sure that you have nothing else going on in your life before you start to play this game...” and “We bloody love Championship Manager 2007.”

Dynamo is taking it's design and development experience into other areas of the mobile gaming world, with the creation of games based on well-loved TV shows. The company recently released a mobile version of Channel 4's hugely popular Countdown quiz and is finishing work on The Crystal Maze for release in early 2008.

Brian McNicoll, the managing director of Dynamo Games, says, “2007 has been a fantastic year for Dynamo. We've had almost universally positive feedback on the games we've released and we are very pleased with the way our latest titles are shaping up. We're overjoyed to be nominated for such high profile and prestigious awards. To appear alongside a console game like Crackdown is a testament to how far mobile gaming has become and the hard work we put into all of our games.”

The Scottish BAFTAs prize-giving takes place on Sunday 18th of November 2007. The IMGA winners are announced on 13th February 2008.mo
