Award-Winning Dead Space Extraction Goes Gold The Panic Before the Terror Begins on September 29

dead space cover girl with monster behind herDead Space Extraction, the prequel to last year’s critically-acclaimed Dead Space, has gone gold. Recently nominated for a “Best of Show - Wii” award by IGN.com at the Gamescom trade show in Germany, Dead Space Extraction brings the series’ signature action-horror to an all new game, on an all-new platform. Dead Space Extraction is designed from the ground up for the Nintendo Wii and will hit stores nationwide on September 29.

Gamers who pre-order at participating retailers will receive a special code that unlocks four of the game’s 10 unique challenge modes*. These intense, pulse-pounding difficulty levels pit players alone, or co-operatively with a friend against the Necromorph horde, competing for high scores and stylish kills. Players who do not pre-order the game must play through each chapter to earn and unlock the challenge modes.

Nintendo of America Vice President of Licensing, Steve Singer said, “We are excited that Visceral Games is bringing the next installment of the Dead Space franchise to the Wii. Dead Space Extraction is shaping up to be an outstanding game and this high-quality, mature title will be a great addition to the Wii line up.”

Dead Space fans can play the game this weekend at Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, WA from September 4th – 7th. Gamers that come by the EA booth (No 432) will be among the first to experience the terror.

Dead Space Extraction tells the story of four space colonists stranded on the Aegis VII mining colony in the furthest regions of deep space. The game introduces Lexine, an important new heroine to the Dead Space universe. As the crew fall victim to a mysterious contagion aboard the ship, it quickly becomes clear that protecting Lexine is their only hope for survival. The game features the highly polished, cinematic action experience that the Visceral Games team is known for.

EA Sport have NO plans for new NASCAR video games

NASCAR Kart Racing"There are no plans right now for NASCAR from EA," said Moore, speaking to GameSpot. "We had a great relationship over the years that I thoroughly enjoyed when I first got here. Unfortunately…we had to make some tough trade-offs.

Part of the team previously working on the series has moved onto EA's first mixed martial arts game, said Moore, which has become a new focus for the sports label.

"We've had to redeploy some of those folks. A number of the NASCAR team has moved over now to EA Sports MMA, which will be shipping next year. [We're] still a huge fan of NASCAR, but no plans right now to develop any further games for NASCAR from EA Sports."

The last NASCAR title from EA Sports was NASCAR Kart Racing for the Nintendo Wii, released earlier this year.

A new PlayStation 3 Slim for $199.99 with Sony Visa card - you don't have to use!

image of new playstation 3 slim with controllerWhat's better than a brand-spanking-new Sony PlayStation 3 Slim for $299.99? A brand-spanking-new Sony PlayStation 3 Slim for $199.99, of course.

I suspect I'll get an earful for this, but the deal comes courtesy of our old friend, the Sony Visa card. When you make a purchase of $299 or more, you get a $100 credit in 8 to 12 weeks. Final price: $199.99.

All you do is sign up for the card, then head over to SonyStyle and drop a sweet, sweet 120GB PlayStation 3 in your cart. (I know it doesn't say "Slim" anywhere, but this is definitely the new model.)

When your Visa card arrives, stick it in a drawer until the $100 credit appears on your statement. Then spend the money like you would cash. Then cut the card into pieces and burn the pieces.

Still not convinced? Then try this: Sony just lowered the price on refurbished consoles! Now you can pick up a 40GB PlayStation 3 for just $219.99 shipped. If you can live with a 90-day warranty, that's one of the best PS3 deals to date.

Of course, a new PS3 for $199.99 is even better. What do you think? Did you already pull the trigger on last week's deal (long since expired), or did your Cheapskate senses tell you something better was just around the corner?

Karos Online website launched screenshot fighter with swordMore details have emerged from NHN about the Player-Versus-Player (PvP) gameplay in its upcoming MMORPG Karos Online. The game is currently undergoing rapid development as NHN responds to player feedback from the first Closed Beta event, which took place at the end of August, generating a lot of interest and participation from the community. The dates of additional Closed Beta Weekend events will be announced shortly, and players possessing an access code for any Closed Beta Weekend may continue to play in future phases.

Karos Online is scheduled to be released in English during Q4 2009, with versions in German and Turkish to follow later.

PvP features strongly in Karos Online, and is very tightly linked to the social and economic system of the game. Players who enjoy PvP can choose from a variety of experiences, all rich with opportunities to show off their skills and write their own histories in-game.

* Guild alliances and rivalries : In Karos Online, every guild leader can register other guilds as either allies or enemies. All members of the guild can then immediately recognize these players as friends or foes, and decide to help them or kill them on sight when they meet in the world of Asmara. Expect the game of alliances and rivalries to be intense and political!

* Mine takeovers : The precious mines where players dig for the magical energy Fletta become vulnerable to takeovers once each week, and guilds can fight over them in massive PvP battles. The victorious guild earns the privilege to control the Fletta resources of the region, and decides when the next takeover will be (within a timeframe of 4 to 7 days).

* Castle sieges : After commercial launch, regular castle siege battles are planned in Karos Online, allowing hundreds of players to experience truly epic warfare!

The Secret World Dark Days are Coming cinematic video game trailer...

characters with guns and swords in their game outfits
Dark days are coming. The words are now everywhere. After deciding to make the development its next massively multiplayer online game a little less secret, Funcom have now released information, artworks and the first ever trailer video for ‘The Secret World’.

"It is great to finally be able to talk about The Secret World, after several years in the dark," says senior producer and director Ragnar Tørnquist. "The real world is such a rich and fascinating setting for an MMO, and we are able to draw inspiration from ancient history, stories of lost cities and forgotten civilizations, folktales, urban legends, conspiracy theories and pop culture. We are building a game that mixes modern day Earth with terrifying monsters, dark and occult magic, cool weapons and awesome powers - and it's unlike anything you have ever seen before in an MMO."

‘The Secret World’ takes place in our own, modern-day world. Players can explore locations such as New York, London, and Seoul, as they unravel the mysteries, legends and myths that make up our world and its history. But the real and realistic will clash with the unreal and fantastical, as the darkness of the secret world approaches. Not only will ‘The Secret World’ offer a setting never before experienced in an MMO, Funcom is also expanding on the genre standards by introducing gameplay that is not based on classes or levels. Players will have the freedom to become whatever they want to be and play however they want to play, allowing them to explore the world at will and master anything from voodoo and black magic to martial arts and modern firearms.

Sushi Go Round Nintendo DSi game Take Photographs of Your Friends and Family... Even Pets, to See Them Become Customers in Your Very Own Sushi Restau

Exciting Nintendo DSi -specific feature in its upcoming eat-‘em-up title, Miniclip Sushi Go-Round.

By using the Nintendo DSi camera, players can take photographs of people, pets, objects – anything they want – then turn them into quirky customers that appear in their sushi restaurant.

This innovative aspect is thankfully a lot easier to use than a pair of chopsticks.

After taking a picture, players just need to trace around the face/object and delete any unnecessary areas of the photo then save. These new customers will then pop in for some super sushi as you’re playing. Up to six pictures can be created, so you’ll never know who’s going to show up next!

Based on the popular Miniclip title, Sushi Go Round has been played online across the globe more than 60 million times. The Nintendo DS version is a complete renovation sporting all new graphics, new features and new modes expanding on the addictive time-management gameplay that made the original such a huge success. Players must run their own sushi restaurant, in which they’re responsible for memorizing recipes, preparing food, ordering fresh ingredients and – most importantly – working hard to keep the constant stream of customers happy.

Miniclip Sushi Go Round will be available for Nintendo DS this November.

Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning new third novel forged by chaos announced - plus Warhammer Online free trial link

warhammer onlineThird Novel in Series Offers Readers an Epic Account of Destruction's Battle to Inflict Widespread Chaos throughout the World

FORGED BY CHAOS, an original novel based on the critically acclaimed MMORPG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR). The third in a series of WAR novels, FORGED BY CHAOS will be available in all major bookstores and on the Black Library website in the fall of 2009.

FORGED IN CHAOS, by noted Black Library author C.L. Werner, provides an epic and gripping account of Destruction’s incursion into the infinitely massive and decidedly deadly Bastion Stair in search of the legendary Spear of Myrmidia. As the armies of Destruction continue their war upon the civilized lands, the Raven Host of Chaos is poised to march upon the Empire of Man in an unstoppable tide. To ensure victory against the Emperor’s Order of the Griffon, an elite party of Chaos warriors is tasked with the quest to find the Spear of Myrmidia and fully unleash the power of the Winds of Chaos. To work such awesome magic, the marauder Kormak must dare venture into the Bastion Stair, portal to the Realm of Khorne, and defy the Blood God’s wrath. However, the warriors of the Raven Host are not the only ones with an interest in harnessing the powers of Chaos, Treacherous Dark Elves and brutish Orcs each look to seize the power for themselves, while a desperate Imperial army races to deny all of their foes the dreaded might of Chaos.

“With the first two Warhammer Online novels, EMPIRE IN CHAOS and DARK STORM GATHERING, we saw the Realm vs. Realm conflict from the besieged viewpoint of Order,” said Jeff Hickman, Executive Producer for Mythic Entertainment. “FORGED BY CHAOS provides readers with their first look into the dark, megalomaniacal minds of the forces of Destruction. Rife with internal conflict, shifting allegiances, and a never-ending lust for murder, we see firsthand how this unholy alliance of Destruction is just as deadly to each other as they are to the armies of Order.”

“Mythic Entertainment have done an amazing job capturing the twisted morality and mindset of the Forces of Destruction in Warhammer Online and it was a pleasure to tap into that for FORGED BY CHAOS,” said C.L. Werner. “From the grim Chaos northmen, to the treacherous dark elves and bloodthirsty greenskins, the villains in FORGED BY CHAOS represent in-game characters I think readers will find both engaging and disturbing. The Bastion Stair, as envisioned for WAR is a truly infernal setting, a hellish crucible to try the most powerful of heroes and a fitting obstacle for the cast to overcome. Recreating this nightmarish place from the designs of the game developers was a daunting, but extremely rewarding labor.”

Based on the popular tabletop war game from Games Workshop, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning features revolutionary Realm vs. Realm conflict that will provide an engaging battleground for years to come. Available now for PC, WAR will be available for the Mac in the fall of 2009. WAR is rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB. For more information or to download the 10-day free trial, visit http://www.warhammeronline.com/.

As well as taking environmental and landscape visuals to new heights by incorporating satellite technology, IL-2 also boasts a tangible damage effects engine. Players will see real-time damage to the aircraft such as holes in the wings and trail lines during dogfights. IL-2 will support up to 16 players in multiplayer aerial combat set across 4 scenarios - Dogfight, Team Battle, Strike and Capture the Airfield.

IL2 Sturmovik: Birds Of Prey will be published by 505 Games in collaboration with 1C Company on 4th September 2009 for Xbox 360, PS3, NintendoDS and PSP. Playable demos for Xbox 360 and PS3 are available to download now from Marketplace and PSN.
