Introducing a game six years in the making: this solo-developer’s fast-paced, handcrafted soulslike twists the genre as you steal your enemies’ attacks and chain them into deadly combos of your own
Most soulslikes ask you to dodge, parry, and punish. In False Hero you will take. Launching its free demo on June 4 ahead of Steam Next Fest (June 15-22), False Hero is a retro-styled, fast-paced soulslike adventure with a combat system unlike anything else in the genre. Its defining hook is the ability to steal your enemies’ attacks and chain them into deadly combos, turning every encounter into a puzzle of which skills to equip, when to use them, and how to string it all together. False Hero was developed by a solo developer (Torchlight Studios) over six years(!), who created absolutely every element—art, design, code, animations, and the soundtrack!— and will be published by Ytopia.
