Monumental Battle With Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen video game on PS3, Xbox 360, PS2 and Wii

transformers revenge video gameThe fate of the earth and the survival of the human race hang in the balance in the Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen video game from Activision. Based on Hasbro's legendary TRANSFORMERS property and the most anticipated blockbuster film of 2009 from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures in association with Hasbro, the game propels players straight into an adrenaline-pumping battle for supremacy across the globe where every second and every choice makes the difference between mankind's salvation and annihilation.

"The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game will give fans the chance to experience their favorite AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS in an all-new, movie inspired adventure packed with the thrilling and explosive action that only the TRANSFORMERS universe can deliver," said Rob Kostich, vice president of global brand management, Activision, Inc. "We are thrilled to announce that after experiencing the rush of commanding colossal robots on their own, players can challenge their friends for the first time ever in full-featured, blistering multiplayer action as their favorite characters."
"Activision has developed a Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game that will give gamers and fans a truly compelling way to experience TRANSFORMERS," said Mark Blecher, Hasbro's General Manager of Digital Gaming and Media. "The Activision team's passion for the property clearly shows in the character development, intense action and rich graphics that really deliver an immersive experience for the user."
The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game lets gamers step into the shoes of the AUTOBOTS or DECEPTICONS, select any available mission and pick from the largest, most diverse range of playable Transformers - each with their own distinct abilities and weaponry. Set in unique environments across the globe such as Cairo and Shanghai, the game allows players to instantly switch between vehicle and robot modes as they drive, fly, fight and blast their way through intense, pressure-packed levels. After engaging in single player action, players for the first time ever will be able to go online and battle friends in all-new multiplayer modes.

The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game is currently in development by Luxoflux for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system, and for Windows PC by Beenox Studios.

Also, award-winning Krome Studios is developing distinct Wii and PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system versions, utilizing the individual platform features to deliver an intense 3rd person action adventure game that combines dynamic robot combat with arcade-style vehicle sequences and flight-based levels. In addition, two completely different titles are being developed for Nintendo DS by Vicarious Visions, allowing players to take on AUTOBOT or DECEPTICON-specific campaigns. For the PSP (PlayStation Portable) system, a unique, fast-paced action arcade title is being developed by Savage Entertainment.

the bandits of the Magik Riktus Clan are set to invade DOFUS - Mac PC video game

dofus mac pc gameThe bandits of the Magik Riktus Clan are set to invade DOFUS and with them, a whole host of new challenges will arrive!

The consistent success of DOFUS hasn’t stopped the game’s designers from coming up with new and exciting surprises for the players. On 6 February, players will have the chance to discover a whole new gaming experience when the Magik Riktus Bandits arrive. The clan is new to the World of Twelve, and they’re here to make their fortune, each one armed with a weapon that allows them to use their clan’s unique spells.

Four types of incarnation exist, one for each order of the clan:

- The Swashbuckling Bandits, experts in close combat. Their weapon of choice? The sword, of course!
- The Archer bandits, masters of long-range combat.
- The Wandering Bandits, who use their spells to protect their friends, and their staff to injure their foes.
- The Sorcerer Bandits, these magi can change the condition of others.
Each bandit’s weapon deals air, earth, fire and water type damage, and once the player has transformed into a bandit, they’ll have 20 unique spells at their disposal. They will also gain a close combat attack, but will lose their original spells for as long as they remain transformed.

Bandits can evolve up to level 50 by gaining experience. All XP won as a bandit will contribute to bandit XP only and every 10 levels, the bandits’ spells evolve by one level. At level 50, all spells are at level 6, which is the maximum level.

How do players become bandits? Each subscription (from one to 12 months) comes with a gift, a weapon which transforms players into bandits when equipped, whatever their original class. The only condition is that the player must be at least level 30.

How to stream video to your PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360

playstation 3 and xbox 360 videoStreaming video and other media to your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 is a lot easier than you might think. You'll want to start weighing your options with the help of a very detailed, which lays out all of your video streaming choices.

Things may get a bit dicey during the configuration of these programs, so don't forget Google is your friend.

When you stream content to a console, you'll need to use a network-connected computer to serve the media.

Link to Gamespot article here...

For best results, we really recommend a wired connection as you'll need as much bandwidth as you can get your hands on. In terms of software, there are a few applications you can choose from--some free, some not so free. We've had a lot of success using TVersity with both consoles, but we'd recommend XBMC if you're more of an advanced user for its customization capabilities. There's even ways to get YouTube and other online content directly on your console.

Whichever setup you choose, serving video to your console just might get you a step closer to throwing away that satellite or cable box. For now, check out our slide show for an idea of how these media-serving programs operate and how your console will look once you've set everything up correctly.

PlayStation 3 beats Xbox 360 on video delivery

playstation network logoSony is outlining several video-playing advantages it feels the PlayStation 3 holds over rival console Xbox 360, such as Blu-ray support and the lack of "double fees."

The company's pitch follows only a day after Microsoft announced that 1 million Xbox Live Gold members have downloaded and activated Netflix's Xbox Live application since launching last November, watching 1.5 billion minutes of films and television episodes with the service so far.

But Sony argues that it offers a better "comprehensive digital entertainment experience," as PS3 owners have free access to the PlayStation Network and are not required to pay "double fees" to download videos. Xbox 360 users must pay for both an Xbox Live Gold subscription and a Netflix Unlimited subscription to stream Netflix movies with the Microsoft console.

However, Microsoft does offer an alternative Video Store through its Xbox Live Marketplace that all Xbox Live members in the U.S., UK, Canada, Ireland, France, and Germany can use for free to download TV shows and rent movies.

The PS3 company also points out its free PlayStation Portable connectivity, which allows users to transfer standard-definition content from their PS3 to a PSP, and watch videos on the go.

Sony also claims that a recent experiment conducted by gaming weblog MTV Multiplayer proved that the PlayStation Network offers faster download speeds. The company adds that its PlayStation Network provides HD content reliably without "waiting for streaming connections that might not ever be made."

The system's built-in player for Blu-ray discs, the victor against HD DVD discs in the high definition optical disc formats war, is also a key point in Sony's release, as are the PS3 browser's Flash 9 support for streaming online video, and new film releases available on the PlayStation Network.

Left 4 Dead Download Content coming soon for Xbox 360 and PC

left 4 dead video gameLooks like our four bloodied but unbowed survivors—Louis, Francis, Zoey, and Bill—will live to fight the zombie horde another day, thanks to a downloadable add-on slated for the spring.
I don't know about you, but "Left 4 Dead"—the relentless, blood-soaked, yet slyly tongue-in-cheek survival game—quickly became one of my favorite console zombie-fests upon its release last November.
I have to admit, I spent a little too much time on Christmas Eve leading my rag-tag team through deserted city streets, hospitals, and supermarkets, coldly dispatching the shambling undead with an assortment of shotguns, hunting rifles, automatic weapons, and pipe bombs (much to my wife's disgust, I might add).

So yes, zombie fans—get ready for the Left 4 Dead "Survival Pack," which (according to Wired's Game|Life) should be lurching our way sometime this spring.

Details are pretty scarce for now (here's the official press release); what we do know, however, is that we'll be getting a pair of new campaigns for the L4D "Versus" mode (the four-on-four multiplayer mode that pits humans against creatures), as well as a new multiplayer game, dubbed "Survival." (Similar to the "zombie" mode in Call of Duty: World at War, perhaps? Hmmm…)

Also on tap: A Left 4 Dead software development kit that'll let coders build their own custom campaigns for the PC.

Valve hasn't announced specific dates yet for either the L4D SDK or the "Survival" DLC pack; the development kit will arrive free of charge, but I'm guessing we'll have to pony up for the DLC. Stay tuned.
