The Political Machine is a PC Strategy game in which players run for President. Players can choose an existing candidate or can design their own from scratch, then choose a map/scenario to campaign in. From there, players must tackle the issues and battle against their ideological opponent for victory on Election Day.

Load up the hopper, lower the mask, and take cover for the most realistic next-generation paintball game ever as Activision announces NPPL (National Professional Paintball League) Championship Paintball 2009. This officially licensed title is coming in late 2008 for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION 3 and PlayStation 2 computer entertainment systems, and Nintendo Wii.
“We appreciate the fact that the bar has been raised with extreme sports games, and that paintball enthusiasts demand an obsessive attention to detail. Our goal has been to over-deliver in a way that pleases both camps,” said Shawn Walker, NPPL President. “It's been a long wait for next-gen paintball experience, but the work on NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 has paid off and the game is a huge step forward for the genre and the sport.”
NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 will feature multiple game modes, officially-licensed gear, and authentic tournament locations and field layouts from the NPPL, the Millennium European Paintball Series, and the XPSL. Players can perfect their skills as they progress from a rookie to pro in career mode and take on the best paintball teams in the world, or get online for an adrenaline rush of intense, cutthroat multiplayer action.
“NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 captures the raw intensity of hardcore paintball in this new breed of extreme sports / first person action entertainment,” Dave Oxford, Activision Publishing. “The game represents our ongoing commitment to the sport and our goal to create the most realistic, competitive experience possible.”
With in-depth design consultation by Team Dynasty and Bob Long, the title will make players feel like they are on the field with motion-captured player movements such as slides, dives, and snapping and leading-edge ballistics that affect the paintballs’ trajectory. The game will also feature unique woodsball-based gameplay modes.

Sales of video games consoles have dropped dramatically in Japan with Sony's PlayStation 3 suffering most.
Sale for October 12 week dropped almost 1500 units from 7232 to 5734 units sold.
Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 sales have done better with the Nintendo DS selling 31914 units to take top slot. The Nintendo Wii was the best selling console with 22877 Wii's sold.
Sony's PlayStation 3 LittleBigPlanet video game's world release has been delayed.
A problem with the soundtrack (references to the Qu'ran) have caused the delay.
With the increasing use of licensed music in video games this problem hasn't come to light until the game was released for review. One of the music tracks used in the game contains two references to the Qu'ran that may cause offense.
The game has been shipped to retailers and will have to be recalled. The original launch date of October 24 will now become November 14th (estimate).
Sony have put a lot of money behind the game launch with PS3 bundles and maximum publicity.
