Mortal Kombat 25th Anniversary Kicks Off with In-Game Events

Warner Bros and NetherRealm Studios are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the world-renowned Mortal Kombat franchise this October with a variety of events and in-game activities.

Show attendees are invited to join a panel that includes the original team that developed the first Mortal Kombat game: Ed Boon, John Tobias, Dan Forden and John Vogel. Moderated by Geoff Keighley, they will discuss the early days of the franchise, the evolution of the brand, and the series’ lasting impact on the games industry and pop culture.

Sonic Forces New Drill Wispon in Action!

Today, SEGA released brand new screenshots from Sonic Team’s upcoming game, Sonic Forces. The screenshots showcase the customizable Hero Character utilising the newly revealed Drill Wispon to destroy enemies and speed through the Chemical Plant.

Wispons are an evolution of the Colour Powers from Sonic Colours and double as both offensive abilities and as a way to platform through levels quickly. In Sonic Forces, players equip their Hero Character with one of a variety of powerful Wispons, including the Drill Wispon, which allows players to drill dash on the ground to quickly traverse stages and climb walls. Players can also attack enemies using the Drill Wispon by charging and launching a drill punch to smash through and destroy enemies.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar classic JRPG format released - PC PS4 XOne

Battle Chasers: Nightwar is an RPG inspired by the classic console greats, featuring deep dungeon diving, turn-based combat presented in a classic JRPG format, and a rich story driven by exploration of the world.

It features classic turn-based combat with a unique overcharge mana system and incredible Battle Bursts. Players can explore beautiful, randomly-generated dungeons loaded with traps, puzzles, secrets and loot and an overworld peppered with hidden dungeons, rare bosses and randomly appearing friends and foes. Build your adventuring party by choosing three of six available heroes from the classic Battle Chasers comic series, each with unique abilities, perks, items and dungeon skills.

Community-led challenge Hyper Mode is back for Dying Light

Techland announces the return of Hyper Mode, a community-led challenge, starting today at 12pm PDT (8pm BST) and ending on 8th October at 11:30pm PDT (3:30pm BST) to achieve a gib-soaked enemy kill count of six million.

Hyper Mode will have a number of key gameplay changes that will imbue players with the additional physical power to send zombies flying throughout the event. Meanwhile for gamers who want to join the fun, there will be a sale of up to 60% on Steam - here.

Let them come - Sci-fi pixel-style alien hordes survival shooter released - PC Mac XOne

Pixel-style survival mode shooter, Let Them Come, is now available on PC and Mac for just $4.99 and on Xbox One for $7.99, with a PS4 and mobile version launching later in the year.

 Players take on the role of Rock Gunar, an interstellar, cigar chewing mercenary gun for hire with alien blood on his hands.
