Katuba’s Poacher is a slick, eye-catching, cartoon boss and rush arcade action - smash and dash - a fest that delivers more than just a fabulous challenge.
A game by South Korean one-man developer/studio, Joe Yu. In development for release initially on PC Steam, with console platforms projected to follow.
Katuba’s Poacher’s vibrant, hand-drawn art style bursts with the kind of expressive energy you’d expect from a Saturday morning cartoon on a sugar rush. The visual style leans heavily into whimsy and technicolour, making each boss battle feel like a live, evolving performance. Colors pop and shift with each phase change, while the backgrounds transform in real-time to match the emotional tempo of the fight. Trumpets blare, bass lines walk, and drums snap with purpose, matching every slash, roll, and transformation beat-for-beat. You’re fighting for survival in a playable jazz concert where choreography and combat become one.
