Hellgate London v0.7 download Patch Released

The version 0.7 patch for Hellgate London is now live.

Just three more decimals and we can ditch the beta number!

The good news is that they've tracked down some of those nasty memory leaks:

We have rewritten our memory manager and also identified two key memory issues. This should make an enormous difference to the vast majority of our players. The cheer that went up around the office was probably heard for miles. The instability of the client is something that has embarrassed and bothered us since the game launched, and we are incredibly happy to be able to address it in such a substantive way before the holiday break.

Maybe I'll fire the game up and see what sort of progress they've made.

Lost Odyssey video game download free on XBox live for Gold members

A month after Lost Odyssey’s debut Microsoft is releasing the first round of downloadable content.

It contains a new dream sequence from the Thousand Year Dream and two accessories, Weapon Guard II and Tatsujin no Hiden Sho. On January 10, 2008 Xbox Live Gold members can download the pack for free.

Silver members have to wait one week to get it.

The slight delay for Xbox Live silver members is a nuisance, but at least the pack is gratis.

This content sounds different from the North American pre-order bonus, which contains an “exclusive” weapon and an extra mission. Perhaps, this will appear as another freebie on the Xbox Live Marketplace in the future.

New Moon, Europe’s Harvest Moon Wii - make dated

Despite netting a 2008 release window, the Nintendo Wii version of Harvest Moon: Magical Melody mysteriously vanished from Rising Star’s homepage.

After so many delays I feared it may have gotten a quiet axe, but this isn’t the case.

I contacted Rising Star and they assuaged my worries.

The website was shuffled around a couple of weeks ago, which resulted in the lost link.

During the exchange Rising Star mentioned Harvest Moon: Magical Melody is indeed (finally?) coming to Nintendo Wii owners in Europe in March 2008.

So far there has been no indication if Natsume will release this in North America. Back in 2006 we got the Gamecube version and it is unclear how much new content is in the Wii-make.

Leading publisher Lighthouse Interactive and developer Vertex4 today released a new update for SunAge, the isometric sci-fi real-time strategy game for PC CD-ROM. The player must safely guide an orb, containing the soul of a young boy to the Castle of Heaven by controlling a beam of light and exploiting the state–changing abilities of the orb to fulfil the challenges of the 40 single player levels or 10 multiplayer levels. Each level will require the player to change the state of the orb to glass, wood or metal, and control it with the appropriate force from the beam of light.



To conquer the Sinister Bridge level the orb must be moved through a series of pools separated by a drawbridge. Activate two switches near the first pool to lower the drawbridge and move to the next pool.

Transform the orb to wood to float across the pool…

Ensure not to evaporate the water in the pool with too much heat from the beam of light until the orb has reached the side – then leave the orb outside the pool and remove the water to enable the light to activate the switch at the bottom of the pool.

This opens a grate to allow the orb to be driven forward between holes in the path.

Avoid the hot centre of the circle while pressing the switches in order to open the final gate and complete the level.

Fading Shadows is to be released in February 2008.

NINJA GAIDEN - DRAGON SWORD video game due March

Tecmo announced that Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword, the highly anticipated action game for the Nintendo DS, will be shipping in March of 2008. With the intuitive use of the DS stylus, Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword will let players control Master Ninja Ryu Hayabusa like never before.

A federal judge in Detroit on Monday, December 17 denied The Romantics' request to stop the use of the song "What I Like About You" in Activision's popular video game, Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s, ensuring that sales of the game will continue. In making the ruling, Judge Edmunds indicated that to the extent there were any copyright issues, Activision did exactly what the company was supposed to do in developing the product.

Activision is pleased with the ruling and thinks that the case is without merit.
