The island inhabitants of Pocket God just can’t catch a break. Previously, in Episode 23 of the smash-hit iPhone deity simulator, the little guys had to deal with the razor-sharp teeth of bloodthirsty piranhas – and two episodes later, they face a new set of predators. And this time, they are much better armed.
Now, in Episode 25: “Sharks With Frickin’ Laserbeams Attached to Their Heads,” the Pygmies of Pocket God will have to contend with Sharks. Sharks with frickin’ laserbeams attached to their heads.
The technologically enhanced creatures are just part of a massive upgrade to the game’s undersea area, also home to the “Bait Master” piranha minigame. No longer must deities go through the tiresome effort of summoning a tsunami – now, the underwater zone can be visited directly from the location menu.
Once underneath the waves, Pocket God players can replace the Bait Master Anchor with the new Chum Bucket, scattering delicious shark bait around the sea, or handing some to a doomed Pygmy. Once drawn out from hiding – probably in some sort of evil volcano lair – the laser-laden sharks will enthusiastically consume their prey. As an added bonus, players can aim the sharks’ lasers using the iPhone’s accelerometer, zapping away at as many Pygmies as they can.

Filling a massive hole (rather than a gap in the market place), Excalibur Publishing is pleased to announce the release of Digger Simulator for PC-CD. Scheduled for release on 18th September 2009 in the UK, Digger Simulator leaves the simulation enthusiast with nothing to be desired.
From a small steam shovel to a huge bucket wheel with a length of 240 metres, you take control of everything. Starting with excavating the footings, with the help of the extensive control unit you have to control the digger’s chassis, paddle and arm. As well as the bucket wheel and steam shovel, you will also need to take control of bulldozers, crawler-type loaders and dumper trucks to execute all the tasks involved in working at a busy gravel pit.
Digger Simulator’s detailed graphics and beautifully designed vehicles serve to make this product as realistic a building site simulation as possible, due in no small part to the realistic controls. It even features multiple camera angles so you can check your rear-end swing!
Close your eyes and you’ll practically smell the bacon sandwiches at 11:00am. The only thing that could make Digger Simulator more realistic would be a white van, a flask, a copy of the Sun on the dashboard and a very politically incorrect wolf whistle at the foreman’s daughter!
Digger Simulator offers endless hours of realistic building site simulation fun. Hobnail boots not necessary!
System Requirements • CPU Pentium III 1.2 GHz • 512 MB RAM • Graphics Card GeForce4, Radeon9200 (Shader 1.0) • Graphic memory 128MB • DirectX 9.0c • Windows ME/2000/XP/Vista • Optional Game Controller

Get your fingers on the buzzers and prepare to cause chaos in Monster Rumble, the third addition to the riotously fun Buzz! Junior collection, now available on PlayStation 3. Launching on PlayStation Store at £3.99 parents and their little terrors can run riot in the weird and wonderful Monster Mansion to find out which of the colourful and crazy creatures is number one through a series of 5 fiendish mini-games for up to four players.
Developed by Dundee-based Cohort Studios, this re-release of the well-received PlayStation 2 original can be enjoyed by everyone, even those without official Buzz!™ controllers thanks to intuitive DualShock support. With beautifully rendered cartoon visuals and a great sense of humour, younger players will enjoy the fun aesthetics and hilarious mini-games on offer, while a range of difficulty settings make this challenging for parents.
Buzz! Junior: Monster Rumble has been created using the developer’s internal Praetorian technology, which is also being used on other internal projects. Bruce McNeish, CTO at Cohort Studios explains: "Having our own internal framework and technology provides us with many benefits. We can both turn around projects quickly as well as develop proposal demos with minimum fuss. Having complete control over our internal framework also gives us great flexibility when we are looking at middleware solutions which allow us to concentrate on creating fun content."
CEO at Cohort Studios Lol Scragg said: “We are pleased with the ongoing success of the Buzz!™ Junior series and are grateful that Sony continue to create games for an often overlooked younger audience. We feel that many kid’s games are falling into that ‘casual’ and therefore overly-simplistic pigeon hole. But while Monster Mayhem is aimed at the three-plus market, it can still provide children with a decent challenge and hours of fun in equal measure, something many kids games fail to deliver. With kids skilfully picking up games at an increasingly early age, we have to warn parents that they might be outclassed by their young ones on this one. You have been warned.”
Buzz! Junior: Monster Rumble Key Features and information - Multiplayer madness for up to four players - Buzz! Buzzer or DualShock controller support - Unlockable trophies - Fully customisable characters - PEGI 3+ Rating

The curtain goes up on the ‘Course of Terror’! The clown Malatina offers a new solo challenge for plucky adventurers in the Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game, Runes of Magic. Once per day, she will give players the opportunity to enter a challenging, obstacle-packed dungeon. The mini-game will be added to the game in the final content update along with the full launch of ‘Chapter II – The Elven Prophecy’, on 15 September.
The dungeon consists of a chamber containing 45 fields, each with a seal that hides a range of different obstacles to challenge the adventurer. Each of these demands a special tactic: For example, ice barricades can only be overcome by using a heavy artillery piece. Players have to use the right tools for the job during the game‘s ten minutes. Clown ghosts constantly appear, making matters even worse for our heroes. Once adventurers discover the field containing the key, they’ll receive rewards as well as an entry into the next round. Special titles can also be unlocked using ‘ghost cards’, to reward players for completing the challenge.
There is also additional work in progress on other solo challenges which will be added to Runes of Magic. “We like to always look for ways to keep our players entertained and offer them plenty of variety,” commented PR Manager Philipp Senkbeil. “MMO players don’t always want to be in groups and mini-games are a perfect change from the routine of raids.”

The end result, in our very humble opinion, is the ultimate World War II simulation.”

Kuchibi is a new puzzler with a unique game idea. No match-3 or falling-blocks clone, but instead a game with a new exciting mechanism that is equally captivating as those classics so that you will just want to keep on playing and playing. Oh, and did I mention the explosions? Lots of them!
The goal is to score as high as possible, and explode as many stones as possible, by building the largest possible chains, which are then ignited.
For each exploded stone you get score points. The farther away an exploded stone is from the ignition stone, the higher its score.
So the goal is to create the longest possible chain, carefully avoiding to flip a corner stone so that it becomes "locked" into an unwanted position and also avoiding a premature ignition by accidentally flipping the wrong straight fuse.
And to make things even more interesting, there are of course various types of extras to earn and use, for example bombs of different types, jokers and multipliers. The game also has four different game modes, each in three difficulties, local highscore lists, online top-score lists and you can earn medals in the ranks Bronze, Silver and Gold. You can even view replays of the turn where you earned each medal. Perfect for bragging in front of your friends with your latest Kuchibi accomplishments!
The rules are simple. Each stone has a fuse connector and there are only two types of fuses. Straight fuses and corner fuses. You build fuse chains by flipping the existing fuses. Of a corner fuse, only the free ends can be flipped: If both ends are free, both are flipped at once (to the opposite side of the stone). If only one end is free, only this free end will be flipped. If no end is free, the fuse can not be flipped at all. A straight fuse can always be flipped (between vertical and horizontal) no matter if it is connected or not. But if a straigt fuse is flipped so that it connects with another straight fuse, then the flipped fuse is ignited and this ignition spreads along the fuse chain in both directions, exploding the underlying stones.
Still can't imagine how this plays out? Want to know what others say about the game? Read on and check out the trailers and screenshots below!
* Four Game Modes: Marathon, Timer, Survival and Scramble * Three Difficulties * Medals and Replays of the turns where you earned the medals * Online Top-Score Lists (this feature requires Xbox Live Gold) * Local Highscore Lists
