Blink: Rogues, a mash up between classic shoot'em up and arena style one-on-one games, was released in Early Access on Steam by indie studio Fox Dive. The game aims to revive and challenge the SHMUP genre, by introducing a highly competitive PvP mode.

This unique PvP game mode allows for a mix of sharp reflexes and strategic planning, while remaining loyal to the top down vertical scroller layout. A duel engages players in a 5 minute split-screen match, granting victory to whomever earns most points by the end of that time. Points can be earned either by destroying waves of enemies or by chasing a frag in your opponent's screen, using the namesake Blink mechanic.

Rend Early Access Winter Update

Frostkeep Studios, the new independent games studio from original World of Warcraft and Leage of Legends developers, has set out their winter roadmap for the faction-based fantasy survival game Rend.

From now through December there will be multiple updates to the game including comprehensive combat improvements, streamlined features, the introduction of legendary artifacts, dynamic siege combat and refined social combats. As these features are implemented into the game, they will be accompanied by developer blogs which will explain how they will improve the experience. A new map extension on Memories of Mars offers an additional setting for players to explore new facilities and points of interest, scavenging for resources to survive. Black Desert Online was remastered on August 23, to take the game’s graphics and audio to a whole new level. The audio team lead by Hwiman “Croove” Ryu revamped every aspect of Black Desert Online’s audio with 100 new, original songs and improved voice-overs for the game’s NPCs.

Croove even added an unexpected treat in the audio remaster. “I always want to introduce our players to many different types of music, and rock music is something I’ve wanted to experiment with for a while now.
