Dead Space Extraction Nintendo Wii video game out September 29

Electronic Arts and its Visceral Games announce that Dead Space Extraction, will be available in stores on September 29, 2009 in North America and October 2, 2009 in Europe exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. Dead Space Extraction delivers the highly-polished, action-horror experience the Dead Space franchise is known for while upping the ante for technical excellence on the Wii with some of the best visuals ever showcased on the platform.



“Our team is really excited to bring the intensity of the Dead Space universe to an entire new audience,” said Executive Producer, Steve Papoutsis. “We are going to deliver the same high quality, cinematic experience we delivered in the original Dead Space, while also adding co-op, new enemies, weapons and taking advantage of all of the unique features the Wii has to offer.”

Developed at EA’s award-winning Visceral Games studio, Dead Space Extraction tells the story of a handful of space colonists desperately struggling to escape from a horrific infection on the Aegis VII mining colony deep in the furthest regions of space. JONAS Nintendo DS Video Game Inspired By The New Disney Channel Series

From sold out shows to the big and small screens, the Jonas Brothers are set to take over the video game world as well. Disney Interactive Studios today announced the development of JONAS for Nintendo DS. The game allows players to take on the role of three superstar brothers – Nick, Joe and Kevin Lucas in outrageous adventures from the Disney Channel comedy series “JONAS.”

Players help the JONAS band members juggle concerts, school, friends and fans to find the balance between their rock star world and ordinary lives.

"JONAS is the perfect complement to the hit television show, giving fans additional access to the Jonas Brothers as they portray the Lucas Brothers─their music, their fashion and their lives,” said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Disney Interactive Studios. “The game delivers a unique blend of adventure, humour and music that will keep fans of the Jonas Brothers entertained and engaged”

Based on the Disney Channel comedy series, the game follows the Lucas brothers as they go about their everyday, but not so normal lives. It features other main characters from the show, including good friends Macy and Stella, and lets fans explore familiar locations including the brother’s firehouse and school as seen in the television show. Players can also customise the JONAS band members’ wardrobe for their daytime antics, as well as cool outfits for when they take the stage.
Featuring interactive environments, JONAS allows players to collect musical notes to power up their guitars and then strike the right guitar chords to overcome obstacles and help the JONAS band members. The game also features hit songs from the “JONAS” television show. Fans will be able to perform to the songs in concerts after each level is completed.

Developed by Altron, JONAS will be available for Nintendo DS.

The Tropico 3 teaser trailer was completely produced by the in game engine and gives you a first look at the new exciting world of Tropico. Tropico 3 will return to the roots of the hit strategy series with a story closely related to the original Tropico.

Tropico 3 is being developed by Haemimont Games who previously developed Imperium Romanum and Grand Ages: Rome for Kalypso Media.

Tropico 3 will be released in September 2009.

Alien Havoc download game for Nintendo DSiWare

Creat Studios announce the release of their first downloadable game for Nintendo’s DSiWare service. An original Creat Studios IP, Alien Havoc has the look and feel of an updated classic era arcade game and is expected to be released for the Nintendo DSi via DSiWare this summer.

Alien Havoc is a throwback to the classic arcade game genre, putting gamers in command of a little alien who must pluck cows from farms on Earth, load them onto his spaceship, and bring them back to his home planet. The farmers, however, won’t let their cows go without a fight. Players must tackle wrapping farm mazes of confusion, play hide and sneak under the cover of tall grass, and throw veggies, rocks, or whatever they can get their alien claws on at the farmers as they fight to bring these valuable livestock back to their home world.

Alien Havoc Features Include:

Classic Gameplay. Getting back to the basics, your objective is to fight the farmers and clear each level of all cows and reach the end with the highest score possible.
Challenge yourself. 20 wacky levels, delivering a mix of mazes, puzzles and action.

Unlockable mini game. Work your way through the levels and unlock the hidden mini game.

The Lord of the Rings - Aragorn's Quest first video game from warner Bros

Warner Bros announce a long-term partnership with The Saul Zaentz Company and New Line Productions for literary and film rights to develop and publish games based on The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

As part of the game franchise, Warner Bros will publish multiple games across many genres designed to appeal to a wide range of unique gamers, including hard-core RPG fans and families.



The first game will be The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest, a new third-person action adventure videogame offering an authentic gameplay experience based on The Lord of the Rings that all ages can play together on Nintedo Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2 and PSP (PlayStation Portable) system in Autumn 2009.

“The Lord of the Rings franchise is world renowned for its captivating adventures, and we are creating new experiences in the game space designed to appeal to a wide array of consumer tastes from core to casual,” said Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest is the first of many different types of games we will be developing with the film and literary rights. The children of the town are eager to learn more of this great man and so Samwise, now Mayor, embarks on a tale of the revered warrior, Strider—as Aragorn is known in his Ranger days - and his most valiant battles. Players assume the role of Aragorn and embark on his greatest quests from The Lord of the Rings trilogy as they wield his sword, bow or spear on foot and on horseback through an action-packed gameplay experience. In the Sword of the Stars Ultimate Collection, players can take control of six different species in a fight for galactic domination. Humans and alien creatures such as Hivers, Liirs, Tarkas, Zuuls and Morrigis each possess a unique mode of transport enabling players to move between star systems at varying speeds and in different spaceships. Set 40 years on from Sword of the Stars in 2445, the violent wars between the Humans, Hivers, Liirs and Tarkas have subsided and diplomacy is dawning. However, the Zuuls, a species of marsupial-like creatures, emerge and shatter the peace. Players can take command of the Zuul army utilising over 90 new ship sections and 15 new weapons to obliterate enemies. Alternatively, players can unite with other races against the Zuuls using the new ship upgrades War, Projector and Boarding and a new type of defence satellite, the Torpedo Defence Platform.

A Murder of Crows
While battles against the Zuul continue, a ghost from the past returns in the form of the scheming Morrigi. A host of new features is available for players with 12 new ship sections and a unique Grav Flock Drive system so that the more ships are added to a fleet, the more speed will increase. New gameplay options include the addition of espionage operations and demands for planetary surrender.

Sword of the Stars Ultimate Collection’s multiplayer option enables players to test their skills against up to 8 others via LAN and online, battling head to head in cosmological warfare in the fight for galactic supremacy.

Nexon America unveiled details on the new cooperative game mode, Fireteam, set to launch on Wednesday, May 27 for its popular multiplayer online first-person shooter, Combat Arms. The new, eight-player cooperative mode teams players up with one another to defeat the Sand Hog, an enemy terrorist army.

Fireteam offers four-, six- or eight-player game options to pit players against hordes of computer-controlled enemies while experiencing an intense, multi-staged military mission. With three different difficulty settings (Normal, Hard and Extreme), players can earn extra life, or respawns, by reaching defined checkpoints. Fallen enemies drop ammo boxes and medical kits so players can replenish ammo and health in the field. Fireteam mode features a specially-designed map, tuned specifically for Fireteam Mode. And since each game is individually scored based on performance, players can try to earn the highest score.

The Sand Hog is a terrorist military organization suspected of illegally supplying weapons to nearby countries. An infiltration team sent in earlier had signaled it had obtained some vital Intel but failed to make it to the extraction point and are now believed to be captured or killed. The mission, Operation Desert Thunder, asks players to infiltrate the area and gather the necessary Intel, and if possible, find and rescue the infiltration team.

SpongeBob SquarePants has gotten himself into quite a predicament. After being entrusted by Mr. Krabs to keep the Krabby Patty formula safe, SpongeBob is overcome with grief for losing the recipe.

He then relies on the help of the most unlikely companion, Plankton, who wants the secret Krabby Patty recipe for himself. With the help of his friends, SpongeBob must use Plankton’s memory machine to retrace the happiest moments of his life to find the Krabby Patty formula in time for the Krusty Krab’s Eleventy Seventh anniversary.

Ubisoft tours with Shaun White Snowboarding World Stage video game

Ubisoft is collaborating again with Olympic Gold Medalist Shaun White in Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage. Developed by Ubisoft Montréal, the game will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Wii system from Nintendo and will be on store shelves holiday 2009.

“Working with Shaun on the first title was an excellent experience,” said Antoine Guignard, producer of Shaun White Snowboarding : World Stage at Ubisoft. “The great public reception of Shaun White Snowboarding and the wonderful collaboration with Shaun made it a slam dunk for us to reunite to create a fun, new adventure for fans.”

Players will hit the slopes with Shaun White and his crew, but this time the stakes are higher as you pursue the world’s top competitions from a half-pipe in the middle of New York’s Time Square to the most prestigious competitions of France, Canada and Japan.

“Ubisoft has been a great partner, and I'm excited for World Stage,” said action sports phenom Shaun White. “It's cool to give people insight on what my life is like on the competition circuit.”

Shaun White Snowboarding was a worldwide success for Ubisoft, selling over 3 million copies since its November 2008 launch and establishing a new sports brand for Ubisoft. The title was also one of the first and most popular video games compatible with the Wii Balance Board™ accessory. Players will be able to break out their Balance Boards once again for Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage when they flex their board skills either alone or together with family and friends.

Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage will be showcased at the Ubisoft press conference during E3 at the Los Angeles Theater on June 1st at 5 p.m. Visitors can hit the powder, as well, at the Ubisoft booth on the show floor (South Hall, Booth No.1022).

Ship Simulator 2008, it’s add-on Ship Simulator 2008 New Horizons and Ship Simulator 2008 Collector’s Edition distribution deal

Recently formed videogame publisher Iceberg Interactive today announced that it has signed the rights for various European territories for Ship Simulator 2008 by Dutch developer VSTEP. The deal includes Ship Simulator 2008, it’s add-on Ship Simulator 2008 New Horizons and Ship Simulator 2008 Collector’s Edition.

Iceberg Interactive has acquired the rights for Europe, excluding Scandinavia, Germany, Russia and Benelux.

“While the Ship Simulator community is no doubt waiting for VSTEP’s next installment Ship Simulator Extremes, set for release in 2010, we will be focusing on extending the existing community and re-launching the current games at lower price points to meet market demand. This is still the benchmark game for ship simulation,” said Iceberg Interactive CEO Erik Schreuder.
