SEGA back on Angel Island - Brand New Remixes from Sonic Mania Adventures - first track 'Big Arms'

Grab your headphones, Sonic fans! As SEGA announce plans to release brand new remixes of select songs from the popular animated web-series, Sonic Mania Adventures. Revisit Sonic’s quest to outsmart the evil Doctor Eggman on Angel Island, with reimagined tracks from iconic Sonic series by composers Jun Senoue and Tee Lopes.

The remixes include the iconic sonnet, “Big Arms,” which plays during the legendary, final boss battle in Sonic 3, as well as more recent tracks including Sonic Mania’s title theme song. The duo will release a total of four tracks together with a fifth by Tee Lopes, all arriving exclusively on the Sonic the Hedgehog official YouTube and social media pages.

Sonic Mania Plus platform game teaser trailer PC Console in July

Sonic Mania Plus builds off the momentum of one of the best platform games of 2017, Sonic Mania, introducing two new playable characters from past Sonic games, Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel and an Encore mode that will provide a fresh look to familiar zones with new challenges and layouts for new and veteran players alike.

Competition and Time Attack modes will receive an update allowing four player competitions, and ghost challenges for time trials. This content packaged in an all-new physical edition which will come with a 32-page collector’s art book, a reversible SEGA Mega Drive cover, and holographic packaging.

Sonic the Hedgehog Live-action CG animation film Premiere in the United States on November 15,

SEGA have reached an agreement with Paramount to co-produce a Sonic the Hedgehog feature film, set for theatrical release in the United States on November 15, 2019, then internationally around the world.

This move represents an important next-step in the expansion of the Sonic the Hedgehog IP, bringing the character to new audiences globally. As part of the IP strategy for Sonic the Hedgehog, SEGA Group has been working to expand this character beyond the video game market to become an entertainment franchise. Recently, Sonic has appeared as an animated character on television, consumer products, console and mobile games, and more.

Sonic the Hedgehog: Battle Racers, an all-new board game based on SEGA’s beloved video game franchise, Sonic the Hedgehog. The fun-filled, strategic game, meant for 2-5 players, will allow you to take on the role of Sonic or one of his many friends and rivals in an obstacle-laden race to the finish.

Shinobi 7 will launch a Kickstarter for Sonic the Hedgehog: Battle Racers in early February. The Kickstarter version will include exclusives and Limited-Edition items.

Eggman is at it again! In anticipation of the November 7 release of Sonic Forces, evil genius Eggman and the world’s edgiest hedgehog, Shadow, have taken over the official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account to drum up recruitment for the robot army. But Sonic fans, don’t be fooled! Should you choose to side with Eggman and his villains, you will be doomed (or lucky enough) to live a formatted life of logic and servitude as robots in his evil empire, as shown in Eggman’s propaganda-filled video here.

Sonic Forces New Drill Wispon in Action!

Today, SEGA released brand new screenshots from Sonic Team’s upcoming game, Sonic Forces. The screenshots showcase the customizable Hero Character utilising the newly revealed Drill Wispon to destroy enemies and speed through the Chemical Plant.

Wispons are an evolution of the Colour Powers from Sonic Colours and double as both offensive abilities and as a way to platform through levels quickly. In Sonic Forces, players equip their Hero Character with one of a variety of powerful Wispons, including the Drill Wispon, which allows players to drill dash on the ground to quickly traverse stages and climb walls. Players can also attack enemies using the Drill Wispon by charging and launching a drill punch to smash through and destroy enemies.

The all-new Sega Genesis Flashback has a stunning new design, reminiscent of the original console, and features 85 built-in games as well as an integrated cartridge port that plays almost all of your favorite Sega Genesis and Mega Drive original cartridges. Built-in all-time favorites include the Sonic series, Mortal Kombat series, Phantasy Star series, and Shining Force series.

Two new high performance 2.4ghz wireless controllers, styled after the Sega Genesis six button originals, are included, as well as two legacy controller ports for optional wired gamepads. Other new features for the Sega Genesis Flashback include 720p HDMI output, scan line filtering, and save/pause/rewind feature functionality.

The announcement was made during the fully packed Sonic Mania: Behind the Scenes panel at San Diego Comic-Con which featured new insight from Takashi Iizuka (head of Sonic Team), Christian Whitehead (developer for Sonic Mania), Simon Thomley (programmer for Sonic Mania), Tom Fry (artist for Sonic Mania), and Tee Lopes (composer for Sonic Mania).
