GRiD Autosport will be released for Mac and Linux via Steam on December 10th, and on Mac via the Mac App Store soon.
Developed and published by Codemasters for PC and consoles, GRiD Autosport has been particularly praised for its sophisticated handling model, which was developed with feedback from professional drivers and the GRID community.
GRiD Autosport’s refined handling encourages players to adjust their technique to get the best out of each vehicle as they tackle five very different driving disciplines, each demanding a distinct set of skills. Players take on aggressive pack battles in Touring events, maintain focus in all-night Endurance races, master the precision of Open-Wheel driving, sharpen their reaction times on the tight corners of Street circuits, and finesse their car control as they slide their heavily modified machines around Tuner courses.
Players will get behind the wheel of 80 highly desirable rides including front-wheel drive hot hatches, souped-up Muscle cars, lightweight open-wheelers and 1,000 horsepower hypercars, by manufacturers including Jaguar, McLaren, Pagani and Aston Martin. They’ll put these wonderful vehicles through their paces on 22 speed-friendly locations around the world, including purpose-built circuits such as Spa-Francorchamps, Brands Hatch and Yas Marina, and the exhilarating city street circuits of Barcelona and San Francisco.
In GRiD Autosport’s extensive online career mode, players purchase, customize, tune and race a unique garage of vehicles. On Steam, multiplayer is cross-platform and supported by Steamworks, and on the Mac App Store, multiplayer will be Mac-Mac and supported by Feral’s own matching service.
All versions of GRiD Autosport feature head-to-head split-screen multiplayer, and support a wide range of third-party gamepads and driving wheels.
A Season Pass will be released alongside the base game, containing a selection of DLCs including the Touring Legends pack, which adds the Silverstone and Donington Park circuits, and the Sprint and Drag packs, each offering a new racing mode.
“The handling model in GRiD Autosport is the most advanced in the series and is brilliantly sustained across the different disciplines,” said David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive. “From the aggression of Touring to the precision of Open-wheeling, this game challenges players to push themselves to the limit, however they like to drive.”
The Steam version of GRiD Autosport retails for US $39.99, £24.99 and €39,99, and will be available from Steam, the Feral Store and other online stores. The Mac App Store version will retail for US $39.99, £29.99 and €39,99, and be available from the Mac App Store.
