From a single Eon Ticket released in London to availability across the country as thousands of Pokémon fans help spread the virtual in-game item - 3DS

It began with switching on a Nintendo 3DS XL system with a Pokémon Omega Ruby Game Card at 9:00 a.m. on 29 November in GAME Stratford, when Junichi Masuda, producer of the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire video games, set the first Eon Ticket free.

Now, two months later, the special virtual item—which allows players to journey to Southern Island again to encounter and catch Latias or Latios—has been confirmed by fans to have arrived in every region of the UK.

Analysis of the campaign’s hashtag shows that between 29 November 2014 and 30 January 2015, the Eon Ticket arrived in over 100 towns and cities in the UK. Social media activity throughout the #EonTicketUK campaign resulted in a potential reach of over 14 million people, as fans that confirmed receipt of the Eon Ticket made plans to spread it further and discussed the ticket’s journey so far.

The Eon Ticket in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire can be spread from one Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 2DS system to another via StreetPass.

“It’s astounding to think that the data from one Pokémon game in Stratford has travelled the length and breadth of the country, spreading the Eon Ticket from the Highlands to Cornwall, from County Antrim to Kent,” says Anthony Cornish, marketing director at The Pokémon Company International. “We’re enormously grateful to everyone who took part in the Great #EonTicketUK Relay and hope those who have the Eon Ticket will carry on passing the ticket to others.”
