GamesCom 2013 Polyphony creators of Gran Turismo announce a unique partnership with several leading car manufacturers, design houses and other leading brands worldwide. Design teams of Alfa Romeo, Alpine, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Bertone, GM Design, Honda, Infiniti, Italdesign Giugiaro, JORDAN Brand, Mercedes-Benz, Nike, Nissan, Peugeot, SRT (Chrysler), Volkswagen and Zagato will create conceptual models, giving a unique insight into the future of the automotive sector. Their designs are then recreated as functional for the new car game Gran Turismo 6, scheduled for release December 6, 2013. The initiative celebrates 15 years of the franchise with 70 million sales, and is known as 'Vision Gran Turismo'.
Vision Gran Turismo will include cars like the BMW Vision Gran Turismo, a prototype virtual exclusively derived from genes of BMW M. Volkswagen gave free rein to their designers to explore the future of the iconic Golf GTI, the Golf GTI Vision Gran Turismo. The Alfa Romeo 6C Biposto Vision Gran Turismo, created by the team responsible for the Alfa Romeo 4C will enter into an iconic model of the 30s. A bold glimpse of the future, Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo combines purity with sultry elements of classic Mercedes-Benz design. Nike makes an intriguing entry in automotive design in following the company's collaboration with Polyphony Digital Inc. in prototype design revolutionary Nike ONE in Gran Turismo 4.
The cars will be released by Polyphony Digital from 2013 to 2014 as downloadable content (DLC) offered to owners of Gran Turismo 6 through online updates. Vision Gran Turismo was developed as a thanks to the loyalty of the fans of the franchise, for its 15-year history of success.
The team at Polyphony Digital has a long history of innovative partnerships with manufacturers that enhance the style and depth of "real driving simulator". Cooperation fascinating, to date, include the ultimate car racing Red Bull X2010, the prototype GTbyCitroen, an innovative new GPS and a data application developed for the Toyota GT86 and partnerships with Nissan which include the fact that Polyphony have drawn a display for the real Nissan GT-R and development competition pilots from virtual to real GT Academy, to resounding success.
Gran Turismo 6 will be released on December 6, 2013. The game is now available for pre-order through various retailers. All who pre-order the GT6 Anniversary Edition or the standard edition will receive several additional cars at the launch of the game.
