Voidwood, a 1–4 player co-op survival horror game coming to Steam in 2027. Set in an inviting but cursed forest, Voidwood challenges friend groups to explore and prepare by day, then survive the night, when the woods become hunting grounds.
Playing as children lost deep in the woods, groups venture out in daylight to scavenge supplies and craft tools, deciding whether to push deeper for greater rewards or get out while they can. The longer they search, the less time they have to find their way back before the light gives out.At nightfall, the forest will call in The Beast, an apex predator that cannot be stopped, only survived. Twisted creatures prowl the dark, and the children must hide, flee, and find their way out together, leaning on proximity chat to keep the group coordinated even as every word risks drawing danger closer.
Every escape feeds the next attempt. What players carry out of the forest becomes camp upgrades, new tools, and new strategies, the kind of progression that keeps a squad saying one more run.
“Voidwood comes from the horror we loved as kids: that feeling of wonder right before the dread sets in,” said Shawn Seibert, Founder & Creative Director at Santa Barbara Games. “We love co-op games where surviving means actually talking to each other, and that’s the heart of Voidwood: your voice keeps your team alive, and it’s also what gives you away. The trailer and demo at PAX West are an early look at a much bigger forest to come.”

Key features
- Talk to survive. Whisper to stay alive. Every word can save your group or give you away. Call out supplies, warn a friend, whisper the plan. A shout at the wrong moment brings the hunt down on everyone.
- Push deeper or get out. There’s only so much time; did you take what you needed to survive the night? Push your luck for what you desperately need or make your escape. How long can you hold out?
- Hide, run, and outlast the hunt. The forest defends itself, and at nightfall, it summons The Beast, an apex predator that hunts by sound and follows the noise straight to you. You cannot fight it. Not yet.
- Go back in smarter. Together. No two nights are the same. Before returning, regroup at camp, your temporary refuge. Unlock new strategies, turn what you have learned into a better plan, and get one step closer to escaping an ever-changing, unpredictable forest.
- You are children, and so was everyone the forest kept. You are not the first the forest has invited in. Piece together what happened to the children who came before you, and why the forest never let them leave. The answers are buried deep in the forest. Finding them is the game.
