Jack the Ripper - Killer App to Attract a New Generation of Sleuths

Track the Ripper 1.2 is an interactive mobile movie that allows the user to return to 1888 and take control of the investigation, gathering clues to build a profile of the Ripper. Users must identify who the Ripper is before he completes his ghastly work with the final murder of Mary Kelly.

The 'Track the Ripper' app enables users to visit key Ripper locations in the Whitechapel area and return to 1888 via an interactive movie. The App has been released in time for the flood of tourists who will be visiting East London for the Olympics and has already won an award in Hackney's Race for Apps competition which promotes novel apps for visitors, business people and journalists coming into Hackney during the 2012 games.

Track the Ripper is an interactive mobile movie that allows the user to return to 1888 and take control of the investigation, gathering clues to build a profile of the Ripper. Users must identify who the Ripper is before he completes his ghastly work with the final murder of Mary Kelly. The app incorporates stunning 3D visualisations to enable the user to go back in time and view the locations as they were at the time of the Ripper.

According to Neil Bailey, Managing Director of WildKnowledge, "A key aspect of the project was the ability to recreate the streets of Whitechapel as they looked in 1888. Partnering with digital specialists The Fink Agency and Bullseye Limited has delivered this and we are delighted with the results."

This app is set to be the first of a series involving history on the streets of London with Neil revealing "Expect to see some exciting new projects that will enable the public to wander the streets of London and interact with historical events such as The Great Fire of London and The Plague." Will you be able to stop the most notorious serial killer of all time before he kills his final victim, Mary Kelly?

This is a joint launch with an associated DVD by Bullseye Limited entitled 'Jack the Ripper - The Definitive Story'. Attendees will be able to take a Ripper tour to understand how the app can complement the experience, before complimentary drinks and meeting a mystery guest.
