Spike announces 'Dangan-Ronpa' video game for PSP!
Today, Spike unveiled Dangan-Ronpa (an English title TBD), meaning winning an argument with a bullet, a brand-new action-adventure in which players playing as a high school student investigate murders occurring one after another in the school and prosecute murder suspects at classroom trials. The game will be released for PSP on November 25, 2010 for a suggested retail price of ¥4,980 (without tax) in Japan. North American and/or European release of the game is TBD.
"The game is set in a high school where super-elite students from all over the nation are brought together. Once graduating from this prosperous high school was said to guarantee future success, but what has been waiting for freshers is, in fact, the despairing school life threatening their lives."
Fifteen super-elite students have been locked in the school and they are forced to live in this isolated community. There is a special rule for the students: only murderers can graduate from the school, and this rule turns the prosperous school into the despairing place. The protagonist, however, does not follow this rule. He investigates murders instead of murdering somebody and tries to figure out a way to escape from the school.
This absurd drama is depicted by Japanese pop artworks and unique 2.5D motion graphics. A brand-new genre of the game High Speed Detective Action-Adventure which integrates the detective adventure and action genres is also worth to see.
