Gamers Daily News Appoints New CEO & New Director of North American Operations

Gamer Daily News LogoToday Gamers Daily News (http://www.gamersdailynews.com) officially announced that Christophor Rick, former Editor-in-Chief, has been appointed permanent CEO in a major restructuring of the executive management. Prior to joining Gamers Daily News as Editor-in-Chief he was Co-Editor at Generation: Gamerz.

“Gamers Daily News is growing rapidly and the ownership believed a management change was in order,” said Christophor Rick, “we are now focusing on the core values of getting news and reviews to gamers as best we can and rebuilding relationships within the industry.”

Gamers Daily News was founded in 2006 by former CEO Wade Hinkle with the idea of becoming the world's premier independent video game news agency. 2008 and 2009 saw massive expansion and growth through acquisitions and repositioning in the marketplace. With a redesigned user experience and a more organized publishing schedule, new content is added every day. Aside from the latest video game news, Gamers Daily News also publishes video game reviews, industry interviews, feature articles and more. A new, more intense focus on getting gear, games and information into the hands of gamers has met with rave reviews from readers.

Along with the new CEO, Gamers Daily News has also announced Thomas Balistreri will move into the position of Director of North American Operations. This position will report directly to the CEO and assist in managing the day-to-day operations for the North American market.

“With Christophor guiding the company and directly managing Europe we believed it was also important to have an overall physical director position here in North America,” said Thomas Balistreri. “To that end, the ownership created the new position and I gladly accepted.”

Thomas Balistreri holds a Master'of Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University and was the founder and Co-Editor of Generation: Gamerz. He was also the North American Publisher for Gamers Daily News after its acquisition of Generation: Gamerz in November 2008.

Gamers Daily News takes a global approach to video games news covering news around the world and in multiple languages. Continued expansion plans include fully localizing the site into major world languages, increasing the overall package of services offered and securing new partners and sponsorships to grow brand awareness. GDN recently incorporated social networks like YouTube, Twitter, MySpace and Facebook into its plans for getting information out to the gamers and will continue that path by adding new features and networks over time.

Former CEO and company founder Wade Hinkle has left the company to pursue other endeavors. He oversaw the management of the company until September, 2009 when he stepped down as CEO.
