Open Beta for Secondhand Lands fairy-tale world video game

second hand lands
Developer invites the furry, feral, and just plain curious to sneak a peek before launch

the beginning of the Open Beta for Secondhand Lands, a fairy-tale world populated by furry-tailed adventurers such as sheep, wolves, catgirls, and scrappers. Now is the purr-fect time for fur-lovers and just plain curious gamers to experience the four-legged world complete with over 120 handwritten quests, an a la carte skill system, and player to player mounting.

In addition to the same vanilla game-play mechanics of other massive online games, Secondhand Lands brings a feature never seen before: player to player mounting. “It’s a completely consensual process, of course,” says Bobby Thurman, owner and lead developer of Secondhand Lands. Players can equip a saddle and invite others to ride them into battle for an experience unrivaled by mere partying.

The world of Secondhand Lands is also colored with parody and witty fun. Memorable quests such as stealing cable for the gnomes, exploring the forest of poorly animated creatures, and taking racy footage for the scandalous “Bears Gone Wild” documentary add decided flavor to the leveling process. Players can spend hard-earned points to gain new skills or perfect those previously known.
Speaking of his inspiration for the game, Thurman remarks, “I was heavily inspired by the Krofft brothers, who scarred me for life with HR Pufnstuf.” He continues, “My goal is the same: to awaken that sense of wonderment and keep players excited about what they’ll discover next.”
Secondhand Lands can be downloaded for free from Pixel Mine Games. Visit the Secondhand Lands website for more information.

Secondhand Lands

Secondhand Lands is the massively multiplayer online game set in a fairytale world colored with parody and witty fun. The heroes are comprised of a motley crew of wolves, sheep, catgirls, and scrappers who have pledged their undying (well, perhaps not undying) allegiance to either Little Bo Peep or Red Riding Hood. In addition to the vanilla game-play mechanics of mainstream online games, this world offers over 120 handwritten quests, a crafting system to trump all loots, and an a la carte skill system to keep the Billy Goats Gruff at bay for quite some time!

Free-to-play online game Warstorm

Online Collectable Card Game Launches the Demon Expansion

Challenge Online Games, Inc. (Challenge Games) announces the first expansion set for their free-to-play online game, Warstorm (www.warstorm.com). The Warstorm Demon Expansion brings additional depth and new strategies to the game. Not only was the Demon faction added to battle with the existing Elves, Humans, Orcs and the Undead, but every faction was updated to improve the game balance. Over 170 new cards, including ultra rare and achievement were added, and fifteen new special powers were distributed across all factions.
“The Demon expansion brings in a whole new dimension to the number of strategies we have in Warstorm,” said Matt Deegler, the Lead Developer of Challenge’s Storm Team. “It plays heavily on creating combo decks that require you to really think about which cards you want to use in each battle. For example, there is the new Command special which allows certain hero cards to buff the attack value of all matching types in play.”
Each demon is driven by its elemental nature: fire, ice, or death, seeking to destroy everything and remake the world into its own image. It is up to the player to decide whether to battle their demons or become one with them.

Warstorm takes collectable card games (CCG) into the massively multiplayer online (MMO) world. Unlike other MMO titles that may require long sessions to initiate and complete a battle, Warstorm is a browser-driven game that can be played in short sessions, letting players compete with their friends in asynchronous combat.

Warstorm can be played for free, but players can select to upgrade faster by buying cards through micro-transactions or by winning card packs in tournament play where up to sixteen players can compete at-once in a skirmish bracket competition.

Warstorm is the third free short-form multiplayer online game from Challenge Games. Its debut game, Duels, was the first massively multi-player role-playing game (MMORPG) to be integrated directly with Facebook. It currently has over a quarter of a million players worldwide. Challenge Games’ second title, Baseball Boss, launched this summer. Baseball Boss is an official licensee of MLB Advanced Media and the MLBA, and it is the first game to combine baseball simulation games with collectable card games.

Find all of the items listed in a category to clear the cards and help rebuild and re-organize the museum. It’s up to you to restore the museum before time is up and its reputation is ruined.

Pictureka! Museum Mayhem

Game Features:

My Make-Up video game asks the question - who needs a makeover?

Oxygen Games release the results of a survey of 7-11 year old girls to find out which celeb is most in need of a makeover. Results have shown that Princess Beatrice comes out on top!

The survey, carried out by Dubit on behalf of Oxygen Games, asked a range of girls aged 7-11yrs which celebrity they thought was in most desperate need of a make-over and it won’t come as a big surprise to hear that Pixie Geldof came a close second behind Beatrice in the poll, with a quarter of respondents (25%) believing she could do with some style advice and a revisit to the make-up palette!
“The survey highlights the fact that young British girls have strong ideas about fashion and make-up. Now they have the chance to unleash their creativity and try out their preferred styles with help from the MyGames range (My Make-Up, My Dress-Up and My Secret Diary). Perhaps Pixie and Princess Beatrice could benefit from some makeover advice from these style-savvy respondents!” said Emma Jenkins, Oxygen Games.
The MyGames range is available on the Nintendo DS and can be played alone or socially, as it’s easy to hold make-over parties or chat securely to friends via MyGames Chat.

My Make-Up is like having a whole makeup box in your Nintendo DS, in every colour you can imagine! You can play with make up, brushes and creams to makeover, pamper and facepaint yourself and your friends. Once you’ve finished the makeover you can save it in your photo album and even send it to friends with My Dress-Up to complete a whole new look – clothes and the perfect make-up!

My Dress-Up lets you play in your very own digital dressing-up box. After checking your messages to see who needs your help to create a new look, dress up your friends for special occasions and parties or even invite them to a dress-up party and rate each other on your styling skills.

My Secret Diary
lets girls take the traditional locked diary onto the Nintendo DS, with password protection to keep little brothers out! You can set reminders for special events like birthdays so you don’t forget to buy a present and record all of your thoughts.

The MyGames series is fully interactive and the exclusive ‘MyGames Chat’ is available on all three games. You can host parties, receive messages or just sit back and chat with all of your My Make-Up, My Dress-Up and My Secret Diary friends over Nintendo DS Wireless Communication.
