Stardew Valley game arrives on Android - Link

Like that first robin rolling up to your front yard, whipping off his sunglasses and giving you a look like, “You know what’s here…”, Chucklefish and ConcernedApe are announcing the arrival of spring with the launch of their friendship-and-farming simulator on the Google Play store for Android devices today!

Developer ConcernedApe and publisher Chucklefish’s runaway indie hit about Farming, Friendship, and Farmhouses was developed for mobile by London-based Mobile studio The Secret Police and is available for purchase at $7.99 / $7.99 / €8,99  (please check the Google Play store for regional pricing). Stardew Valley on Android will also be playable in Korean, Italian, French and Turkish at launch, bringing the total supported language count to 10! These languages will also be coming to the iOS version (and consoles) in a future update.

All-New Content for A.O.T. 2: Final Battle - Retake the wall

The latest entry in their colossal action game series, based on the worldwide anime phenomenon ‘Attack on Titan’: A.O.T. 2: Final Battle. The new gaming experience follows Attack on Titan’s Season 3 adventure through the actions of specific characters, capturing all of the conflict of the popular anime series like never before.

Taking place throughout Attack on Titan Season 3’s timeline, Final Battle’s Story mode plays through selected characters’ points of view with major heroes active in Season 3 - now playable for the first time - boosting the total number of playable characters to over 40. In addition to the content covering seasons 1-3 of the popular anime series, developers will also include original episodes to create a more fulfilling ‘Attack on Titan’ experience.

BAFTA British Academy Games awards nominations announced

The British Academy Games Awards is BAFTA’s annual celebration of the very best in games of the past 12 months. The nominations announced today highlight an outstanding level of creative excellence from a broad range of UK and international development teams. The Awards take place on Thursday 4 April 2019.

The highlights of today’s nominations are:
• 10 nominations for God of War, the action adventure game and the eighth instalment in the series.
• Six nominations each for Red Dead Redemption 2, Return of the Obra Dinn and Florence.
• Five nominations for Celeste, including Game Beyond Entertainment. The game’s narrative encourages players to overcome struggles, persevere and achieve their goals with compassion, and aims to bring a greater understanding of mental illness.
• Other nominations in Game Beyond Entertainment are 11-11: Memories Retold, Florence, Life is Strange 2, My Child Lebensborn and Nintendo Labo.

Voting opened on Tuesday 12 March for the EE Mobile Game of the Year, the only award voted for by the public. The shortlist is Brawl Stars, Clash Royale, Fortnite, Old School Runescape, Pokémon Go and Roblox. Vote now at ee.co.uk/BAFTAgames.

Staffordshire University to launch new games degrees in London

A new centre offering some of the UK’s most innovative games industry courses will open this year to grow graduates with the skills to feed the world’s fastest growing industries.

Launching in September, The Digital Institute London, based at Here East, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London, will combine Staffordshire University’s specialist teaching with access to the capital’s thriving mix of companies.

The prestigious annual Princeton Review once again rated Abertay as number one in Europe for undergraduate level games courses, with the University also breaking into the world top 10 at postgraduate level.
