Don't look for a new Elder Scrolls game in the near future.

If you've been wondering what Betheseda would be up to after providing content for Fallout 3, developing Fallout: New Vegas, and publishing Wet, what executive director Todd Howard said at Quake Con 09 may give you some closure. Or make you very upset.

Howard took the time to enlighten the audience about Betheseda's "low a**hole quotient," and the development of Fallout 3. An interesting point that Howard revealed to the audience was that the final version of Fallout 3 was actually half of the game they had made. Which makes sense if you look at the DLC content and length.

The biggest news that Howard let out of the bag was that Betheseda are not working on a new Elder Scrolls game. His exact words being: "Don't look for a new Elder Scrolls game in the near future." He also said to expect Fallout: New Vegas next year.

What gives? Do the employees over at Betheseda ever sleep? Okay so the Fallout 3 DLC was probably the remnants of the whole game that they had finished. But considering that they are helping to publish and promote Wet, have Fallout: New Vegas in the slip stream and whatever else that the public doesn't know about, I'm wondering where they find time to practice their rapid eye movement?

Deep Silver to publish Prison Break PC video game

Deep Silver signs license agreement with Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising for adaptation of hit TV series on PC and consoles

Koch Media, a leading producer and distributor of digital entertainment products, announced the signing of a license agreement with Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising (Fox Licensing) regarding the world-wide publication rights to a video game based on the award-winning TV series "Prison Break". "Prison Break", developed by Zootfly, will be released by the games label Deep Silver for next gen consoles and PC.

"The ingenious plots and fast action of “Prison Break” thrill TV audiences around the world, and provide the ideal basis for a video game," says Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media. "The game will offer the same blend of action and suspense as the show, appealing to fans of the series as well as video gamers."

“Who doesn’t love the thrill of a prison break? It’s a great basis for any video game, but even better when utilizing the intricate storyline and colorful characters created for the Fox series," says Gary Rosenfeld, Senior Vice President of New Media for Fox Licensing.

The protagonist of the "Prison Break" game is Company agent Tom Paxton. He is sent to the Fox River State Penitentiary to find out why Michael Scofield (the hero of the TV series), a man without a previous criminal record, became a bank robber. The storyline runs parallel to the first season of "Prison Break": Paxton encounters several characters from the series and experiences key events from his own perspective.

The action adventure "Prison Break" has all the markings of the award-winning TV series: a compelling story, distinct characters, and fast-paced action. Using diverse climbing and stealth skills, the protagonist Paxton explores numerous locations of the series, all brought to life with great attention to detail.

Where can you get a PlayStation 3 as stocks dry up? PlayStation Slim annoucement and price cut at GameCom?

playstation 3 console image blackA lack of PlayStation 3 stock in retail channels is more evidence that Sony intends to reveal a redesigned console and possible price cuts.

Japanese and UK channels are drying up, with orders on hold until the end of the month.

The retail commentary I’ve seen has come out of the UK. We heard Japanese retail a few weeks ago say they weren’t going to be getting any more PlayStation 3s after August 8, and now we’re starting to hear UK retail say they cannot re-order PlayStation 3s until month-end, that suggest there’ll be a model change.

Next week's Gamecom event is the likely location for a big reveal from Sony, during its press conference to be held on Tuesday evening. As well as price cuts, a 'PlayStation 3 Slim' is also expected.

If Sony’s practice is the same as it was in the past, and the Slim is more of a redesign of the components to drive down cost, then I think we will get a price cut.
