Don't look for a new Elder Scrolls game in the near future.

If you've been wondering what Betheseda would be up to after providing content for Fallout 3, developing Fallout: New Vegas, and publishing Wet, what executive director Todd Howard said at Quake Con 09 may give you some closure. Or make you very upset.

Howard took the time to enlighten the audience about Betheseda's "low a**hole quotient," and the development of Fallout 3. An interesting point that Howard revealed to the audience was that the final version of Fallout 3 was actually half of the game they had made. Which makes sense if you look at the DLC content and length.

The biggest news that Howard let out of the bag was that Betheseda are not working on a new Elder Scrolls game. His exact words being: "Don't look for a new Elder Scrolls game in the near future." He also said to expect Fallout: New Vegas next year.

What gives? Do the employees over at Betheseda ever sleep? Okay so the Fallout 3 DLC was probably the remnants of the whole game that they had finished. But considering that they are helping to publish and promote Wet, have Fallout: New Vegas in the slip stream and whatever else that the public doesn't know about, I'm wondering where they find time to practice their rapid eye movement?
