Heroes of Newerth Reborn, the community-driven revival of the classic MOBA, rolls out its biggest Open Beta update to date, headlined by the long-awaited introduction of a fully integrated Marketplace, sweeping improvements to the new player experience, a new hero, and much more. After a highly successful weekend tournament that saw the biggest spike of players since launch, today’s update is designed to make the game more accessible to newcomers while deepening long-term engagement for everyone, marking a major milestone in HoN Reborn’s continued evolution towards 1.0.
At the centre of today’s update is the Heroes of Newerth Reborn Marketplace, a new player-driven hub where the community can freely buy and sell cosmetic content. This new marketplace allows players to acquire alternate avatars using an in-game currency called Jade, list unwanted items for sale, and earn when their items are purchased. Players can also convert in-game earnings into real-world value if they wish. This system creates a living, player-powered economy where cosmetic items can circulate dynamically, giving players more agency over their collections while keeping all gameplay advantages purely skill-based.
To celebrate the launch, the team is kicking off a 72-hour in-game event, offering players a limited-time opportunity to jump in with a series of bonuses. During the event, players can earn a bonus drop of Jade by playing 15 matches, enjoy zero marketplace fees, and receive additional Jade with the purchase of select packages. A limited-edition avatar, Wasteland Flint Beastwood, will also be available exclusively during this time.
