The Indie Horror Showcase revealed some truly frightful terrors, most notably the release date for Folklore Hunter, the co-op urban legend hunting survival game developed by Liquid Donkey Games, as it begins the hunt for the Mothman when it graduates from Steam Early Access on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026 on Steam for PC. Become an expert hunter of the supernatural, called into strange places where the creatures from old wives’ tales become horrifyingly real. Use cameras to track the locations of mythic creatures like the horned Wendigo, vampiric Strigoi, and, new to version 1.0, the elusive Mothman. Discover clues to their origins – and what could stop their reign of terror, because bullets alone won’t work. Work solo or with friends in online co-op to find hints and thwart these threats across three story hunts with highly replayable Contract Hunts.
Early Access players can now create and share their own custom content with Steam Workshop support, a feature which launched this week alongside the reveal. Console versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch platforms are also in development for release in 2026.

When a father goes missing under mysterious circumstances looking for his kids, a village finds itself cursed by creatures of the night, or strange things are afoot at abandoned military biolabs, they call you. Track and hunt three mythic creatures in a fully-designed main campaign through a series of Story Hunts supporting single and multiplayer modes. Learn what brought each creature into this world and find a way to contain it before it takes any more lives. Take these lessons and apply them to shorter Contract Hunts to tackle randomized locations and puzzles, and earn rewards for living to unlock new gear, traps, and other helpful equipment to personalize your own hunting techniques.
