Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN Esports will make a strong bid for the 2022 F1 Esports Pro Championship title as it presented its line-up for the new season, featuring Nico Longuet, Tomek Poradzisz and the returning Dani Bereznay. Longuet and Poradzisz have been revealed as the newest additions to the roster, while Bereznay, a multiple F1 Esports race winner, makes his comeback to the team where he spent some memorable seasons in the past.
20-year-old Franco-Italian Longuet scored three pole positions and two podiums in 2021, ultimately finishing in seventh place in the 2021 F1 Esports Pro Series. Passionate about motorsports from a very young age, Nico still holds the record as the youngest F1 Esports driver ever to have scored a podium, and joins the team from Alpine.
16-year-old Pole Poradzisz has recently been crowned 2022 F1 Esports Challengers Champion in the PC league, having previously conquered the Polish F1 Series title three times. Despite his young age, Tomek has been around the F1 Esports scene for a few years, an established and well-known presence now making the step to the top tier.
Bereznay returns to Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN Esports after having competed for the team in 2019 and 2020, seasons in which he finished P3 and P5, respectively. Bringing his skills and extensive knowledge of the Championship, the talented Hungarian will join his team-mates in their quest for the 2022 F1 Esports crown.
Nico Longuet: “I am excited to compete in the 2022 F1 Esports Pro Championship with Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN Esports this year. I like to consider this as a fresh new start, with new team-mates and a whole new crew behind me. There is a strong team spirit already: we get along very well and enjoy spending time together so I am sure this year we can be very competitive. As always, my objective is nothing less than winning because I have shown in my years competing that I am capable of achieving that. I hope to see the fans in the chat rooting for us!”
Tomek Poradzisz: “I am thrilled to finally compete in the F1 Esports Pro Championship, and I could not have had a better team to start this journey with, having worked with some of my team-mates for over three years now. The atmosphere within the team is great, and my team-mates are two extremely fast and experienced drivers - which just reassures me even more that we can achieve big things this year. The goal is quite simple - bring the team to the top, exactly where it belongs, and I know that we can do it.”
Dani Bereznay: “Coming back to Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN Esports feels like coming home, and it is one of the best days of my entire life. Hopefully, we can re-write history together with renewed energy and represent the team in the best possible way. Practice has been going on for a long time now with my team-mates and I see really great potential of upcoming success.”
Frédéric Vasseur, Team Principal Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN: “Our Esports program keeps playing a big part in our efforts to bring our fanbase closer to the team. The F1 Esports scene has become incredibly competitive and keeps growing, and Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN wants to continue to play a leading role in it. We are thrilled to be welcoming Nico and Tomek to the team and delighted to have Dani back with us after having worked together for two successful years in the past. We can be proud of fielding three of the best talents on the current F1 Esports scene, and I cannot wait to see what we can achieve together over the course of the season.”
