SEGA Europe are proud to congratulate their studio, Creative Assembly, for picking up two awards at last night’s Develop Awards 2015 in Brighton.
Alien: Isolation was given the award for Use of a License or IP and Audio Accomplishment. Over 130 companies from across Europe were nominated, and among them were SEGA’s very own UK-based studios, Creative Assembly, Sports Interactive and Hardlight; all were nominated for the In-House studio award.
Extended congratulations go to Creative Assembly’s partner SIDE who took home the award for Creative Outsourcer – Audio for their work on the critically acclaimed Alien: Isolation.
Creative Assembly was the developer with the most nominations. Having expanded into the console market with the release of Alien: Isolation and the free-to-play market with the announcement of Total War: ARENA and Total War Battles: KINGDOM, the studio is still hiring to add even more world class talent to its teams. Sports Interactive have also seen expansion, with the recent announcement of a new strategic partnership with DaLe Games in China, giving them the exclusive Chinese operational rights for a brand new version of the award-winning: Football Manager Online.
Hardlight were another of SEGA’s UK-based studios that were nominated in the awards with their focus on developing titles for mobile and tablet devices. Sonic Dash, their most successful title to date, recently passed the 100 million downloads milestone. The team at the studio now comprises of 50 staff and are currently hard at work on new titles based on famous SEGA IPs as well as original ones.
