Omer Khan from Bridgend defeats 31 other finalists to become the UK Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS National Champion 2014.
After the arrival of 32 finalists and eight hours of intense gameplay, the winner of the UK Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS 2014 tournament has been announced as Omer Khan from Bridgend.
Following 8 regional heats held at selected GAME stores across the UK, hundreds of Smash Bros. fans competed to win one of the 32 coveted places at the Grand Final, which took place at London’s York Hall.
After being crowned the UK Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS National Champion Omer, 22, said:
"I have been a huge fan of Super Smash Bros. since the N64 but I never thought I would actually win a national tournament! I faced some challenging and enjoyable battles and am genuinely grateful that I had the opportunity to participate in this event. I am, of course, looking forward to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and any future tournaments!"
Fans of Smash Bros. can pick up their copy of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS now from retailers across the UK including the official Nintendo UK store and Nintendo eShop. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is available from 28th November 2014.
The four best players from each regional heat attended the Grand Final. Regional heats took place at the following GAME stores:

- Hull, St Stephens Centre
- Sheffield, Meadowhall
- Manchester, Trafford Centre
- Birmingham, Bullring
- Stratford, London, Westfield
- Chelmsford, Exchange way
- Bristol, Cribbs Causeway
- The Grand Final took place at York Hall, London, E2 9PJ.
