The mysteries of Mega Evolution deepened when it was revealed that Rayquaza, the third Legendary Pokémon of the Hoenn region, can Mega Evolve in the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire games for Nintendo 3DS and 2DS systems!
Rayquaza is an incredibly powerful Dragon- and Flying-type Pokémon, standing equal to Groudon and Kyogre. This Legendary Pokémon lives far above the clouds in the distant ozone layer.
When an epic battle between Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre begins to rage below in Hoenn, the turmoil threatens to disrupt the balance of the entire world. The inhabitants of Hoenn look to Rayquaza as their protector and saviour.
In battle, Mega Rayquaza’s skills are sure to wreak havoc on an opponent’s strategy with its Delta Stream Ability. Powerful moves like Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Sandstorm, and Hail will fail in the face of strong winds whipped up by Mega Rayquaza, whilst Abilities like Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning will not even activate. In addition, moves of a type to which Flying-type Pokémon are usually susceptible will only deal normal damage.
