Tex Murphy Shows How He Does Full-Motion Video Gaming Right in the New Tesla Effect Trailer - PC

Tex Murphy will finally be back in 2014 after leaving loyal fans on a cliffhanger for almost 16 years, so come get acquainted in a world filled with dangerous dames, morally ambiguous characters, and lots of mysteries to be solved.

This first-look preview will showcase Tesla Effect's improved Tex Murphy experience with HD live-action -- that's right, for those of you not old enough to have played adventure games in the 90s, Tex Murphy embraces the lost art of green screen full-motion video as it interacts with fully modeled 3D environments. But before you can say "interactive movie," the trailer will dish out samples of the logic puzzles, interactive dialogue, branching storylines and alternate endings that revive the classic Tex Murphy spirit for the upcoming 2014 PC release from ATLUS and Big Finish Games.

Tesla Effect shines with an eclectic cast of actors, including:
  • Todd Bridges (Willis from Diff'rent Strokes...ask someone older if you don't know what that is)
  • June "TV's Greatest Mom" Lockhart...ask someone even older if you don't know who that is
  • Larry "Soup Nazi" Thomas (you all have seen Seinfeld, right?)
  • Kevin "Tom Servo" Murphy
  • The original Tex himself, Chris Jones
Tesla Effect begins with Tex Murphy - the down-on-his-luck gumshoe in the post-apocalyptic future - regaining consciousness on the fire escape next to his office with a gaping head wound and an injection mark on his arm. With the last seven years of his life wiped from memory, the private eye has no choice but to figure who was behind the mysterious attack and why.

Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure will release on Steam beginning early 2014. The single-player adventure game will feature full-motion video. The game is not yet rated by the ESRB.
