Composer Malcolm Kirby Jr., "Saints Row IV is such an incredible game, when Volition laid out the vision for the score I got really excited. One of the coolest things about the score to Saints Row IV is the interactive, open-world music in virtual Steelport. We had a lot of fun prototyping which elements and styles felt best as you traverse the city and use various super powers, and how the textures and layers change depending on your neighborhood as well as altitude."

As a prolific live musician Malcolm Kirby Jr. has performed and recorded with artists such as The Campbell Brothers, Fred Wesley, Lenny Castro, Kenny Wollesen, Tommy Campbell, The Respect Sextet, Steve Gadd, John Medeski, Terrence Howard, Will Bernard and many others. In addition to performing worldwide, Malcolm Kirby Jr. has composed music for the films "Cop Out", "The Love Guru", "Brooklyn's Finest", TV shows such as "CSI", "Numb3rs", "Pimp My Ride", "Medium", "Law and Order" and Saints Row: The Third video game.

Malcolm Kirby Jr. describes the different music styles heard in Saints Row: IV, "There is definitely a huge sci-fi / electro influence on the music but I also wanted to mix in elements from modern styles such as trap, hip hop, ambient, and dub. There is also so much original music in this game for the both the cinematics and missions, with themes ranging from modern stealth combat to retro 8-bit, to epic orchestral. It's always an amazing experience working with Volition and I feel that we really created a unique signature sound that defines Saints Row IV, and the over the top insane world of virtual Steelport."

Saints Row IV will launch on current-gen consoles and PC on August 20, 2013, in North America and August 23, 2013, in the rest of the world.
