World of Tanks as a new discipline of the Electronic Sports League

World of Tanks becomes part of the ESL Major Series – The launch of the games’ Go4-series on August 7 – Total prize money of 18,000 Euro.


World of Tanks (WoT) joins the list of the disciplines of the ESL Major Series, one of the most important tournaments in the Electronic Sports League (ESL) - the largest gaming league in Europe. Apart from that, the ESL introduces a new Go4-series (Go4WoT), which will last for the next five months. It consists of 21 single cups and five monthly finals.




The overall prize money will be 18,000 Euro and the sign-ups for the first Go4WoT-Cup are already open (www.esl.eu/eu/wot). The Free2Play game by Wargaming is a team-based Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) game, for which the sense for strategy and teamwork are necessary in order to triumph over the enemy‘s tank division. World of Tanks is the world record holder for the largest amount of players playing at the same time on the same server.
