In a UK first, Video Kinect will be set up in-store at Oxford Street, allowing mystery special guests to speak live with the first person in the queue for Kinect at GAME Leeds. Come midnight, doors will open and GAME staff will be on hand to assist shoppers at the tills. Over 300 other GAME and gamestation stores will also open nationwide.
“Kinect for Xbox 360 is set to revolutionise the way people consume entertainment – not just games but movies, music and keeping in touch with friends and family,” said Stephen McGill, Director of Xbox and Entertainment, UK & Ireland. “Playing Kinect is natural, intuitive and brilliantly fun, and we’re very excited to bring it to hundreds of thousands of families across the country this Christmas.”
Completely free from controllers, Kinect immerses you in dance and fitness, racing and sports, action, adventure and party games, offering something for everyone on your Christmas gift list. Nineteen Kinect-enabled game titles from the industry’s biggest publishers will debut in November, including “Dance Central” (MTV Games/Harmonix), winner of the Game Critics “Best Original Game” Award at E3 2010.
“We are delighted to be the official retail launch event partner for Kinect for Xbox 360. Our staff and customers are so excited about getting their hands on it and we’re opening stores across the country to ensure they can be the first to experience it,” said Martyn Gibbs, Regional Managing Director for UK and Ireland, GAME Group. “The launch at our Oxford Street store will be particularly special with some very exciting special guests joining us for this great night – as well as hosting the first UK Video Kinect call!”
Kinect launches on 10th November in the UK at £129.99 ERP for the stand-alone Kinect Sensor and “Kinect Adventures” game, or £249.99 ERP for the all-in one Xbox 360 Kinect Console Bundle including the new Xbox 360 4GB console.
Kinect for Xbox 360 brings games and entertainment to life in extraordinary new ways — no controller required. Simple to use and fun to play, Kinect for Xbox 360 allows owners to jump into Kinect-enabled games for any type of play, and the Kinect Hub puts your favourite movies and TV programs, music, live sports, and social networks all in one place.
