Video games’ producer and developer Eko Software today announced further game details for Aqua Panic!, the colourful and addictive underwater puzzle adventure available now for download via PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable.
Aqua Panic! offers three gameplay modes :
- Adventure Mode: In this mode, a set number of fish must be lead to the exit safely. Players have to complete each level in a set order, thus travelling through each of the five “seasons” with increasing difficulty. The adventure starts in Spring, continues with Summer, Autumn, Winter before finally descending to the hellish Inferno! New tools or elements are introduced via cut scenes between levels.
- Free Mode: Players can select any level unlocked in the Adventure mode, with additional access to the store in which new tools can be bought to aid progress. This mode gives the opportunity to aim for the highest scores, to collect as many medals as possible in order to buy more new equipment.
- Survival Mode: In this mode, players have a set number of fish that they will have to lead throughout a series of levels. Players must save at least one fish among those rescued from the previous level. The game ends when there are no fish left to save.
Armed with their toolbox, players will interact with the game environment in order to guide the fish to their natural habitat. These limited tools, must be used to the greatest effect in each level:
Missiles : Used to blast holes in the ground to allow water and fish to pass through.
Plants : Used to provide a barrier to stop water and fish.
Harpoons : This tool can eliminate predators and other enemies.
Fans : Can be used to move clouds or awaken flowers.
Fish net : This tool can be used to directly rescue isolated fish.
Attractors : This tool can be used to attract nearby fish.
Freezer : Used to freeze a pool of water for a limited period of time.
Cloud factory : Clouds can hold water and the fish swimming in it.
Players can also plan their actions by looking upstream at the map during the introduction phase on each level. It is possible to repeat levels at will, if players failed or if they expected to do better: levels are playable endlessly in Adventure and Free modes.
Aqua Panic! offers a colourful and hectic experience in over 80 levels that begin at a pace suitable for all abilities and progress to a fiendish difficulty. Aqua Panic! is available to download now from PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 and PSP.
