Doodle Jump iPhone game bounces above the Competition With 3 Million Paid Downloads

Lima Sky Becomes First Indie Developer to Pass 3M Paid Downloads on the iTunes App Store. Doodle Jump has now sold over three million copies on the iTunes App Store.

Lauded by leading iPhone games blog Touch Arcade as “possibly the best iPhone game ever created,” Doodle Jump has occupied the #1 top paid app spot in the US, UK, Germany, Australia and many other countries.

Doodle Jump is played over 5 million times a day, justifying the title’s accompanying advisory, “BE WARNED: Insanely Addictive.”

With over 1.6 million units sold in 2010 alone, Doodle Jump currently stands as the best selling app of the year. Apple selected the game in its “Best Games of 2009” short list and Macworld.com rated it 4.5 mice, calling it “a perfect micro-game, insanely addictive, and deliciously replayable." Wired selected Doodle Jump for “Wired’s 20 Favorite iPhone Apps of 2009” and Slide to Play proclaims that “Doodle Jump epitomizes the microgame ideal.” Lima Sky has provided more than 25 free updates to provide fresh content to the app.

"Selling over three million copies of Doodle Jump is beyond our wildest expectations," noted Igor Pusenjak, President and Founder of Lima Sky. "We have to thank our incredible fan base for their undying support, none of this would be possible without their help."

In Doodle Jump, players guide a lovable character, Doodle The Doodler, on his journey up a sheet of graph paper. Using some of the most subtle and accurate tilt controls in existence, players help Doodle The Doodler spring up to towering heights. Along his way up, Doodle The Doodler can pick up jet packs, must avoid black holes, and occasionally blast baddies with nose balls as he jumps from platform to platform.

Doodle Jump is available now for $0.99 on the iTunes App Store
