StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is a direct sequel of 1998 hit, StarCraft by Blizzard. StarCraft II game touts a new 3D-graphics engine for better graphical details of clash between the protoss, terrans and zerg. The closed beta is the first phase of beta testing and thousands of Battle.net registered users would've got their Beta key. Based on the Battle.net architecture, access to StarCraft II beta will require a Battle.net account. Users can register to get the key. The minimum system requirements are listed below (no mention about Mac systems):

  • Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1/Windows 7
  • 2.2 Ghz Pentium IV or equivalent AMD Athlon processor
  • 1 GB system RAM/1.5 GB for Vista and Windows 7
  • 128 MB NVidia GeForce 6600 GT/ATI Radeon 9800 PRO video card
  • 1024 768 minimum display resolution
  • 4 GB free hard space (Beta)
  • Broadband connection
