The History Forge has announced plans for its forthcoming series of games based upon historic periods. Released today for the first time as an independent product, Pioneering: Virtual Boonesborough spearheads this series of interactive historic experiences. Based upon the first frontier town founded by the legendary pioneer Daniel Boone, Pioneering: Virtual Boonesborough allows players to discover the world of the American West in a completely new way.
Through a non-violent interactive adventure this game allows players to discover historic facts and quotes as they explore an accurate reconstruction of the town and its surrounding environment. Help the citizens of Boonesborough in their everyday lives in this immersive mini-adventure out now exclusively at the History Forge’s website for the introductory price of justAv.
The next title due for release from the History Forge moves away from the American West towards the world of the Caribbean and the Pirates who haunted its waters. Piracy: Port Royal is a mini-adventure planned for release in February 2010 and, like Pioneering: Virtual Boonesborough, it will give players an opportunity to discover the real world behind the myths. Explore this settlement as it existed at the time of Captain Edward “Blackbeard” Teach and discover what turned men to piracy at this time. The third title to be released in 2010 will be a much larger adventure akin to The History Forge’s first game Pioneering: Explore the Early American West. This title will also be a member of the Pioneering series but see a radical change in the period and journey that players will explore. Details of this third Pioneering title will be made public in the coming months.
About the History Forge: The History Forge is an independent developer of games and interactive media for the PC. The company’s first game, Pioneering: Explore the Early American West was a fully realised RPG adventure that combined open world mechanics with an accurate historic representation of the frontier. Since the launch of this title at the end of 2009 the History Forge has been working on a series of new games set in alternative historic settings that will launch throughout 2010. The second game in the Pioneering series, an educational mini-adventure, is out now.
