The Singapore Night Race recreated in game for the first time
Gamers will be able to experience the thrill of racing at night in the FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX when F1 2009 is released on the Nintendo Wii and PSP (PlayStation Portable) later this year. Codemasters has today released in game footage taken from the Singapore Street Circuit in F1 2009 on the Wii as well as new screenshots from the night race.
The FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX became instantly iconic when it was introduced to the FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP™ last season as it was the first time that a FORMULA ONE race had been held under lights. This has been painstakingly recreated in F1 2009. In total there are almost 1,500 lighting projectors used at the circuit, making it four times brighter than the average sports stadium and enabling the drivers to have maximum visibility at all times.
Out this autumn, F1 2009 on the Wii will set new standards for racing games on the Nintendo console with an absolutely authentic recreation of the 2009 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP that is accessible for the entire family and challenging for more experienced driving game enthusiasts. There will also be a limited edition bundle available at launch that will include a Race Wheel that will house the Wii Remote. The PSP version, which will also be released in autumn, will allow fans the opportunity to enjoy the world's most thrilling and glamorous sport on the move and will feature ad hoc multiplayer for up to four players.
