Get to know some of Persona 4's dungeon-crawling, Persona-wielding protagonists

In the small town of Inaba, nestled in the Japanese countryside, a young man settles in with his uncle and cousin. Sudden circumstances have forced the arrangement, but it is for the most part an agreeable place to live, if a little boring. Everything changes when a shocking and mysterious killing leaves a town aghast and searching for answers. As all signs point to involvement of a twisted serial murderer, a young hero and his friends will discover hidden powers and use them to save innocents from certain death. Together, they must find the trail of the unknown attacker… before they strike again!

Naruto - Path of the Ninja 2 for the Nintendo DS has gone gold and will be shipping to stores on October 14th. The sequel to the only NARUTO role-playing game available in North America, Path of the Ninja 2 gives players a chance to defend the Hidden Leaf Village as 30 of the most powerful ninja in the NARUTO universe through a completely original storyline.

“There has been a huge progression between the original RPG title on the DS and Path of the Ninja 2,” said Laura Yoshioka, director of consumer software at TOMY Corporation. “Between the expanded character list, the Wi-Fi battle system, and the new squad-building options, this is an adventure that should appeal to the inner ninja of players everywhere.”

With 30 characters to choose from, including favorites like Naruto, Sasuke, and Rock Lee, plus an all-new Squad Leader and Ninja Tag systems, there have never been more ways to create the perfect ninja squad. 

The improved and intuitive battle system will make it easy for even the newest fighters to get into the combat, using the Touch Screen to unleash devastating melee and jutsu attacks, while the Wi-Fi multiplayer feature will offer aspiring ninja the chance to take on challengers from around the world. 

Based on VIZ Media’s hit animated series, Naruto - Path of the Ninja 2 is scheduled to ship to retail stores on October 14th, and is rated “E10+” (everyone 10 and older).

Offshore Tycoon is a casual time management simulator in which the player has to take control of harvesting equipment such as fishing trawlers, oil tankers and more. Every task has to be managed and completed quickly and efficiently in order to make money and in turn to progress.

Taking on the role of the Offshore Tycoon, players will travel the globe to five exciting themed levels, each of which consist of ten levels with their own varieties of fish, stylized look and feel. There’s even a Gallery Mode which allows players to learn more about the different breeds of fish encountered in-game, with each variety of fish being unlocked as players reach new locales.

EA tell Spore video game players - We're sorry for DRM

The consumer is always right. Electronic Arts, stung by a siege of criticism from gamers who took issue with the copyright restrictions the company placed on its Spore game, this morning issued an apology and said it would loosen the electronic locks on the game.

Spore, one of the most hotly anticipated computer games of the decade, was released two weeks ago after more than six years of development.

"We've received complaints from a lot of customers who we recognize and respect," said Frank Gibeau, president of EA's Games Label, the division responsible for Spore. "We need to adapt our policy to accommodate our legitimate consumers."

Trying to avoid widespread unauthorized copying of Spore, EA had restricted, to three, the number of computers on which players could install the game. But buyers chafed at the limit imposed by the digital rights management policy.

They complained that the Redwood City, Calif., company didn't adequately disclose the policy and that it treated them all like software pirates. Some customers also said the policy failed to recognize that players often upgrade their computers and need to migrate their software to new machines.

Temperature-based combat system gives pilots two specialized battle modes in upcoming Sci-Fi action game

More details about the advanced combat system in Dark Horizon, the upcoming space action simulator for the PC. Set in the dark and beautiful galaxy of Enosta, Dark Horizon casts players as Guardians, the mysterious yet skilled fighters charged with saving the galaxy by overcoming the all-consuming spectral force known as the Mirk.

In addition to the game’s multitude of ship customization options, Dark Horizon also features two specialized combat modes for the game’s 22 missions: shadow mode and corter mode. Several of the game’s missions will call upon players to use one or both of these modes in addition to the game’s standard flight mode.

“As we were thinking about gameplay mechanics during development, we decided a realistic element of combat that would be significant for Guardian fleet fighters would be the temperature of the ship,” said Timur Lazarenko, Lead Programmer on Dark Horizon. “By controlling the temperature of his ship, the player can send his ship into one of two specialized combat modes. Making the ship’s engine temperatures drop will send the player into shadow mode, in which he can become invisible and stealth past enemy lines. When the player heats the ship’s engine, he can then enter corter mode, which allows him to significantly upgrade his weapon system in exchange for a shield penalty.”

Dark Horizon will be available for purchase in stores from September 26th and for digital download at GamersGate.
