Abertay University reveals sponsors backing Dare Academy Game Design Competition

Abertay University’s Dare Academy competition will be supporting six potential new video games start-ups this summer thanks to a partnership agreement with four companies with strong links to the industry.

The student games design teams will receive mentorship and support from this year’s Dare Academy sponsors which include long-standing partners Lindsays, Henderson Loggie and Dell as well as new partners, Unity, who join for the first time this year.

Mission Zero Technical Test Announcement Trailer and pre-register information

Technical test Mission Zero will open on July 8 in select regions, with fans able to pre-register their interest ahead of launch. Mission Zero is a 2v4 competitive stealth game, where one team takes on the role of the Sirius (Invaders) and the other team are the Mobius (Chasers). The final release of the game will have cross-platform play on Android, iOS, and PC, although iOS won’t be available during the Technical Test.

The Technical Test for Mission Zero will be held on July 8, 2022 at 9:00(GMT+7) in Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Thailand, with availability on Android and PC through Google Play, official website and TapTap. The Technical Test will be the equivalent of a small-scale beta test, with players having a chance to experience the current version of the game without any in-app purchases, and with their progress resetting in the final release.

XIII Remake Major Switch update on September 13 2022

A major update for the game XIII Remake as well as the Nintendo Switch version of the game will be released on September 13th 2022. As a reminder, the game is the remake of the iconic cel-shaded FPS from 2003, and is the adaptation of the 5 first volumes of the Belgian graphic novel of the same name by artist William Vance and writer Jean Van Hamme.

To achieve the quality standards and offer an optimal gaming experience, Microids decided to entrust the development of XIII Remake to the French studio Tower Five (Lornsword: Winter Chronicle). Hard at work for more than a year on a major update for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions, the studio has also worked on the multiplayer content as well as the Nintendo Switch port of the game. This update, the multiplayer content and the Switch version will simultaneously be released on September 13th.
