Atlantica Online Opens 6th Server To Meet Consumer Demand

Expansion to be Celebrated During 'Fortnight of the Oracle'

NDOORS Interactive, creators of the strategic turn-based MMORPG, Atlantica Online, today announced that they will be opening their 6th server, Delphi, to meet growing consumer demand. Each day brings new players into the world of Atlantica Online and the increase in server capacity improves the game’s performance and provides the best online experience possible. The expansion follows a major content update for the award-winning free-to-play MMO. With a 6th server online, Atlantica is prepared to welcome thousands of new users with a smooth gaming experience and allow veteran players the opportunity to start anew and tryout the new character classes. To celebrate the success of Atlantica Online and herald in the new server, NDOORS will be hosting the ‘Fortnight of the Oracle,’ a series of power-leveling festivities.

Midway sell Mortal Kombat and give bosses almost $4 million bonuses

Midway are to sell the Mortal Kombat franchise and still set aside $3,755,000 for bonuses for top executives.

Bumble.bz Swarms onto the Xbox 360 with Bored Meeting

I wanted to play something simple, smart, and addictive when friends came over, but couldnt find anything that fit the bill, recounts developer Steven Jones. With inspiration from great casual games like Chu Chu Rocket, I believed gamers would welcome a change of pace. After months of development Bored Meeting was born, and Im happy to say the playtesters arent bored of it yet!

Why Bored Meeting?
Its something many of us are familiar with: white boards, dry erase markers, harsh lighting, and conference tables. Even if were not, movies and shows like Office Space and The Office give us a certain comic view of the oft-boring business meeting. Bored Meeting picks up on those themes, arms players with pens, and puts them in the shoes of project managers fighting for control of funds that flow around a white board. Here, dreams are realized (and shattered) over the heady fumes of dry erase markers.

What's unique about Bored Meeting?
Bored Meeting is both simple to pick up and easy to play, and yet has interesting intelligence at work behind the scenes. The map generator can be customized for many types of gaming (from action to strategy), and is smart enough to keep random maps fun. Players can even alter maps during play by calling swarms of bees (simulating market buzz) to remove ink on the white board. As well, Bored Meeting runs a market simulator in the background, both to ensure that no two games are exactly alike, and to trend game intensity upwards over time. Intensity is further amplified through music tempo, which speeds up when the market goes up, and slows down when the market wanes.

What does Bored Meeting offer?
Bored Meeting is a casual pick-up-and-go strategy game designed to keep friends entertained for hours, comments Jones. As part of this design, Bored Meeting pays attention to replay value, with loads of options to vary game rules, and some that can even turn play from fast paced party games into longer and more cerebral real-time strategy (RTS) games. With a clean, sharp, and friendly audio/visual experience, Bored Meeting is easy to start and hard to let go.

What genre does Bored Meeting fit in?
Bored Meeting is a strategy game, though it blends strategy, party, and simulation.

Were there any roadblocks to overcome?
Of course! To keep Bored Meetings graphics flowing smoothly, says developer Steven Jones, we had to take full advantage of the Xbox 360s vertex and pixel shader capabilities. The result is a constant and silky 60 fps at 1080p, even while thousands of Dollars travel the white board and dozens of angry (and motion blurred) bees swarm.

Anything else?
Adds Steven: my hope is that after a night of Bored Meeting, players agree that it was the best five bucks they ever spent. I think the value is tough to beat.

What's next?
Were now working on an online team game that is more suited for hardcore gamers and tournament play. What I can say for now is that there will be bees, and some of them will be angry, hints Jones.

Street Fighter 4 PC may come with MadCatz joypad this Summer

Street Fighter 4 was finally released in North America for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in February.

For some reason you're holding out for the PC version, now at least you have some idea of how long you'll be waiting.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com (via Shacknews), Christian Svensson, Capcom vice president, business development and strategic planning, said the game should be released by the summer... although we can't say he sounded entirely convinced by his own statement.

World in Conflict- Soviet Assault release date set for March 13th

GamersHell spotted that the Ubisoft's UK listing for Soviet Assault has the game dated for March 13th.

The expansion to World in Conflict will be released in boxed form as the World in Conflict Complete Edition, which will include the original game in addition to Soviet Assault, although those who own the original will be able to download the expansion online.

Soviet Assault switches sides, with players following the events of the original game from the perspective of the Soviet invaders. You can expect a new campaign, four new characters, extra multiplayer maps, and likely more.

World in Conflict was released in September 2007 to high acclaim, so this expansion's been a long time coming. March 13th, comrades.

Halo Wars makes into (some) stores - say Bungie - Plus amazing halo screenshots poster download

For those fortunate enough to get Mythic Map Pack codes early and those picking up Halo Wars LCE as it hits retailers, the Matchmaking hopper for the Mythic Map Pack, dubbed Team Mythic, is live and looking for soldiers. For everyone else, the counter is still ticking away towards an unstated date set sometime in the not-so-distant future.

If you find yourself in the waiting-it-out camp, we're going to try and make your Mythic-less days just a little more bearable. Over the next five weeks, we'll examine and explore some of the Sandbox variants that will make their way into Halo 3's matchmaking stable when the Mythic Map Pack becomes available as DLC over the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

The lone exception to our plan is Tundra, the only custom Sandbox variant you'll find inside of the Team Mythic Playlist right now (unless you count the Grifball arena). Since it's already in play, let's take a look, shall we?
