Angelina Jolie Hooked on Computer Games

Angelina Jolie is reportedly using video games to help her lose her excess baby weight.

The actress, who gave birth to twins in July, has been taught by her eldest son, Maddox, how to play virtual Pilates on his Nintendo DS.

A family insider reveals: "The kids were convincing her that video games were more than just fun...

She tries to get in an hour of Pilates three times a week. She's picking it up pretty quickly and is already at the hardest setting."

Crystal Quest video game now on iPhone and iPod Touch

One of the 1980's favorite games, Crystal Quest, is now available for iPhone and iPod touch from the Apple App Store. Crystal Quest made its first appearance on the Macintosh in 1987, and has progressively grown its fan base throughout the years. Marvelous and Ignition Bring the Darkness of LUX-PAIN for Nintendo DS

Lux-Pain for Nintendo DS, the all-new text-based adventure game, will set its “eye” on North America in March 2009.

Showcasing the work of hot Japanese animator Robin Kishiwada, whose credits include cover illustrations for Eureka Seven series, Lux-Pain features music composed by Kenji Ito, well-known for the music in SaGa, Mana, and Culdcept series’, and Yasuyuki Suzuki, of Operation Logic Bomb, Tail of the Sun, and Space Invaders Extreme fame.

Lux-Pain is set in historical Kisaragi City, a town plagued by mysteries from small mishaps to murders - with no logical explanation as to why these events occur. It seems “Silent”, a worm born through hate and sadness, has infected humans and forced them to commit atrocious crimes. The hero's parents are victims of such crimes. To avenge his parents, Atsuki goes through a dangerous operation to acquire Lux-Pain in his left arm, a power so strong that his left eye turns golden when using it to seek and destroy Silent for good.

World War II Road to victory v1.21 patch update

The 1.21 update rolls out more fixes and improvements to this World War II grand strategy game

Major new update is available for the recently released WWII grand strategy game, World War II – Road to Victory. The update brings about two dozen fixes, including improvements to gameplay and several rule tweaks. Additionally, the in-game report window now delivers information on a wider range of game events and the Poland 1939 scenario has been revised with a new more historically detailed order of battle.

Wrath of the Lich King arrives for World of Warcraft...

World of Wardcraft players have been hoarding gold waiting for the launch of Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

Some item available in the original game will now be obsolete.

Eleven million players who own the original game may not upgrade. Blizzard expect 4 million will buy the expansion earning $120 for the developers.

This figure is based on the number of players who bought Burning Crusade expansion. Lich King has a new top level of 80 that's 10 higher than Burning Crusade and 20 higher than the original WoW.

Wrath of the Lich King offers the new 'hero class', the necromantic death knight; with more than 700 goals on offer plus a new continent called Northrend to play on.

PopCap Donates First 500 copies of Bejeweled Twist given to overseas Military

the first 500 boxed, retail copies of Bejeweled Twist to the non-profit Games For Soldiers (GFS) organization tomorrow. GFS will deliver the boxed copies of the game to armed services personnel stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan in time for soldiers in the field to enjoy it during the holiday season. The third installment in its ultra-popular Bejeweled franchise, Bejeweled Twist arrives on retail shelves next Tuesday, November 18 and is available now via Web download at www.popcap.com.

“We really appreciate PopCap’s generous contribution – one of several the company has made to our organization – and are ramping up to distribute copies of Bejeweled Twist to soldiers in the field by mid-December, just in time for the holidays,” said Jesse Williams, founder of Games For Soldiers and Army National Guard soldier who returned home from a deployment to Afghanistan earlier this year. “So-called ‘casual’ games like Bejeweled, Peggle and Zuma are hugely popular with military personnel of all ages, ranks and backgrounds. These games lend themselves to the occasional and haphazard ‘down time’ common to military life in combat areas, and provide some distraction and even stress relief in what are often high-adrenaline and/or high anxiety environments.”

SPC Williams first began contacting video game publishers while stationed in Afghanistan, securing donations to help outfit his unit’s MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation) center. After returning home, he founded the Games For Soldiers organization (www.gamesforsoldiers.org), which has shipped thousands of video games to armed services personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2008, to both individual soldiers and base recreation centers and Internet cafes. While there are dozens of organizations chartered with distributing books, toiletries, snacks and other items to U.S. Armed Services personnel, Games For Soldiers is the only entity that is specifically focused on donating video games to the troops.

Street Fighter table for Pinball FX in celebration of the soon to be released Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. The demo gives players a great taste of MotoGP 08, allowing access to a quick race around the Mugello circuit, with a choice of riding as either Spanish favourite Dani Pedrosa or America’s Nicky Hayden.

Players can also select one of the game’s three riding models and set the opponent AI to create the ideal challenge to match their riding skills.

This same demo will shortly be available for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
