Whack the Dead - Playful addicting game for iPhone, iPod Touch and Mac

Arriving in time for Halloween, Phelios, an independent Mac and PC game developer, has released their second game for iPhone and iPod Touch called, "Whack the Dead," which is also available for Windows and Mac OS X via http://www.iplayphonegames.com. Whack the Dead was created with the PTK game engine.

About Whack the Dead

Whack the Dead is a playful addicting game for iPhone, iPod Touch,Mac and PC. Eliminate the zombies, eery creatures and beings from beyond the grave by whacking them. Grab the grenade to get rid of the bad guys as quickly as possible, freeze them by tapping on a snowman.

Find ammunition and other bonuses to help you out and to increase your score. Don't whack the good guys, though! It can be tricky at times because players might find friendly folks and animals around but don't get rid of them. If you do, well, you lose time and points, and you end up whacking the wrong things. Focus on the guys with green skin and a blank look in their eyes.

Whack the Dead for iPhone and iPod Touch is available for $2.99 at the iTunes store located at the following link:

Burn Zombie Burn

Pinnacle Software and developer Doublesix are excited to announce the upcoming release of what will surely prove to be one of the most addictive and charismatic arcade shooters of 2009 - Burn Zombie Burn, available on PlayStation Network early Q1.

You play Bruce – an average every-day Joe who was looking forward to some ‘quality time’ with his girlfriend Daisy. In true B-movie style their Saturday night is ruined by an invasion of zombies. Set across six classic American horror movie inspired levels, Burn Zombie Burn is a third-person shoot-em-up in the classic coin-op tradition featuring next-gen game play mechanics, and possessing that ‘one-more-go’ addictiveness which define all of the great shooters.

The aim of the game couldn’t be simpler; shoot, burn and blow up as many brain munching zombies as possible using a variety of classic zombie killing weapons before they overwhelm you. Use fire to build up your multiplier and then destroy zombies en masse with explosives to increase that oh-so-important leaderboard high score. But beware! A burning zombie is a faster zombie – burn too many and they will burn you!

Burn Zombie Burn is frantic, arcade gaming at its best, delivering humour and bloody zombie violence in copious amounts!.

“The idea for Burn Zombie Burn! was to make a game that captured what the studio is about: “just one more go” game-play, a raucous sense of humour and an accessible learning curve coupled with traditional hardcore depth. Working with Pinnacle gives us the freedom to make the game we wanted to make, retain the Burn Zombie Burn! IP and meant that we always had a say in how the game was handled and represented”, said Jim Mummery, Creative Director at doublesix.

Peter Sleeman, Managing Director at Pinnacle commented, “The press response we have already received to Burn Zombie Burn! demonstrates the calibre of this game and I have very high hopes for this unique title. This deal demonstrates how Pinnacle is pursuing its new business model, allowing developers to have creative control over its own IP and benefit from the hard work and inspiration they have put in.”

KEY FEATURES
• Six American horror movie inspired playable levels – The Woods, Graveyard, Suburbia, Drive-In, Military Base and Secret Lab
• Three single-player modes – Freeplay, Timed and Defence
• Two player Co-op and Versus modes (Freeplay and Timed only)
• Ten bloody and gag-filled custom Challenges across all levels including ‘My Exploding Zombie Head!’ (kick it around the map and shoot to detonate), ‘Zombies Ate My Teddy!’ (zombies are after your teddy. Stop them!) and ‘Lawn of the Dead!’ (a lawnmower and a lot of zombies. You work it out!)
• Eight zombie types to slaughter, each with their own behaviourial patterns, strengths and weaknesses – Normal, Exploder, Crazy, Dancers, Rushers, Riot, Noxious and Super Zombie!
• Fantastic range of primary weapons to dish out some zombie hurt with including baseball bat, chainsaw, lawnmower and the Brain Gun!
• Dish out additional zombie pain with pickup enhanced Timed, Proximity and Remote Explosives for that nice, at a safe distance zombie evisceration!
• Set fire to zombies to net a big score multiplier. The more zombies on fire, the bigger your multiplier and the quicker your score rises
• Level Event on every level activated by keeping on killing with the same weapon to build up a combo ticker. Max out three and the Event is activated, a different one for each level, including a UFO, a God Ray and Laser Beams, all of which will help you out
• Three in-game characters; Bruce - across between Bruce Campbell and Elvis, Bruno – Bruce’s quieter brother, and Daisy – Bruce’s girl

SIMBIN HAS RELEASED THE DEMO FOR GTR EVOLUTION

porsche racing car with lights onFollowing the success of GTR Evolution, SimBin has decided to release a demo to share the success with a wider audience. In the demo players will also experience the new Race-line and track map functionality.

Brands Hatch is an old favorite and any SimBin fan will have driven it countless times in search of the perfect lap. EXPERIENCE MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER MULTIWINIA!

Last month Introversion released our fourth fantastic stand-alone PC title Multiwinia: Survival of the Flattest. A retro-arcade multiplayer extravaganza, set in the gorgeously pixellated Darwinia universe with hours of guaranteed gameplay, 49 beautifully unique maps and fantastic reviews from the crème-de-la-crème of gaming press, Multiwinia seemed a sure-fire success.

One big problem. The demo did not contain multiplayer.

Whilst it may be great to crush the AI bots in one fell swoop, nothing beats the guaranteed fun of Multiwinia multiplayer which is why Introversion have been working round the clock to create a Multiwinia demo that gives players more, much more.

The new demo provides a fantastic online multiplayer experience with the available demo maps and also allows demo players to join full games when hosted by a fully paid up player over a LAN. That’s not all – the demo also now contains an extra mode from the full game called Rocket Riot!

Players can now bask in the glory as their 1000-sprite army marches towards an opponent’s vulnerably defended statue, or look on in horror as their enemy retaliates with a 10-tonne killer airstrike on their one remaining spawn point.

To celebrate this great new demo release, Multiwinia is now available on Steam for a special price of $9.99 and for this weekend only Darwinia comes free with any Multiwinia purchase! For more information about Multiwinia, and links to the new demo, please head to www.multiwinia.com

X-Blades video game introduce Dark power

Introducing more spells and beasts

Darkform:
Yes! The Dark power truly is amazing. I don't know why I never embraced it before. When I do, I'm rewarded with almost god-like qualities which I use to smash my opponents. I can feel the power flowing through me which allows me to run, attack, and shoot faster. But I also feel this power consuming a large amount of my souls. But there is the advantage of using other Dark powers such as "Darkball". I think it consumes less energy to use, however it doesn't seem like I can gain Rage while I'm using it. Interesting. (Requirement: Dark Rage)

Earthquake:
I learned this skill when I was in the plains of Africa where a local Shaman taught me how to harness this ability. Originally it was used to scare away predators of the plains. I took it a step further and used it to smash enemies around me. I now use this power to help me get out of situation where I am surrounded but the only problem is when I am fighting flying creatures.

Crabs:
These little three-legged creatures, which are covered in thin armor, possess no defensive magic and are vulnerable to physical attacks, if you can hit them. They don't pose any danger alone, and even in a group, they appear to be disorganized, yet they can flank their enemies and attack in unison to knock down and finish off their opponents.

Spiders:
The most ancient predators of this world are Spiders. They were the first fighters The Dark drafted into his army. He gave them armor and taught them how to use a deadly ray. Lightning magic can ruin their defenses, as it melts their shells; however, The Dark didn't modify Spiders since storms are rare on the Island.
