New FIFA soccer 09 football video game online mode revealed - download now

A new online mode called FIFA 09 Clubs, designed for PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360, that enables gamers to form or join user-controlled ‘clubs’ anywhere in the world. Through FIFA 09 Clubs, gamers can form or join clubs of up to 50 friends and field their strongest team when competing in Be A Pro: 10 v 10 Online Team Play, a feature that enables 20 people on 20 different consoles anywhere in the world to connect online to play a single match of FIFA Soccer 09.


FIFA 09 Clubs will determine the best virtual team in the world. Clubs are ranked based on total points and placed in a division. Clubs are relegated and promoted to different divisions based on their performance during the season. In addition, FIFA 09 Clubs will enable Club Managers to scout rival players to identify a player that fits his or her squad, and then recruit them to join their club. Up to 10 players on a Club can participate in a single game and Clubs are able to play multiple games simultaneously if they wish.



A full playable demo of FIFA Soccer 09 for the PLAYSTATION3 will be available for downloadable at the PLAYSTATION Store, for the Xbox 360 on Xbox Live Marketplace and for the PC at www.FIFA09.ea.com, Football World (www.easportsfootball.com) and the EA Store (eastore.ea.com) as of September 11. Mamma Mia - Sing Star gets ABBA video game exclusive on PS3

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today announced a collaboration with ABBA to bring the band’s best loved tracks to SingStar for both PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3. Owners of either system will now be able to sing along with some of the most iconic pop tracks of all time including ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Gimme Gimme Gimme’, ‘Waterloo’ and ‘Dancing Queen’.

SingStar ABBA is being developed in full collaboration with ABBA and Universal Music Group in Sweden, which manages the rights to the ABBA brand. The terms of the agreement include a window of exclusivity for disc-based PlayStation titles until December 2009.

ABBA’s recordings have sold an estimated 370 million units worldwide. Their 1992 album, “Gold,” is one of the most popular albums of all time, with sales of 26 million copies.

The SingStar agreement comes as the music of ABBA enjoys a renewed surge of popularity worldwide, sparked by the huge success of the film, “Mamma Mia!” Global sales of the soundtrack album, released by Universal Music Group, the world’s leading music company, are now approaching 3 million.

“We are thrilled to be collaborating with ABBA to bring their tracks to SingStar this Christmas,” said David Reeves, President, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. “The popularity of this iconic band continues year after year, and we know SingStar fans will be delighted to add this selection of classics tracks to their SingStar collection.”

Novastrike - video game PlayStation 3 update

The first major update for NOVASTRIKE is now available on the PLAYSTATION Network.

“At the start of June we released NOVASTRIKE and quickly discovered a lot of customers found the difficulty settings to be too challenging,” said Kevin McCann, president and creative director of Tiki Games. “Subsequently, the update really focuses on making the difficulty modes more accessible while also still retaining challenging modes for players that are very experienced with shooters.”

“Trophies became available while we working on the update so we included sixteen trophies for players to earn,” continued Kevin McCann. “We also included customizable controls, XMB music playlist support, and more. Supporting our customer-base is and always will be an extremely high priority for Tiki Games.”
