Metal Gear Solid: Rising will be using a new engine that Kojima Productions Team needs to craft to compensate for the Xbox 360 and the PC version. The game can still look better than MGS4 in terms of graphics, but they’ll accomplish this feat by utilizing their tools and understanding of the hardware more. It also conveys the imagery that Rising won’t be your conventional MGS title as previous entries were. Games are always improving and it's expected that Rising will surpass MGS4. The real question is why couldn't Kojima just optimize the MGS4 engine and go from there?
“The Metal Gear Solid series has again proved its huge potential, and we are delighted with the fantastic response the game has enjoyed at retail,” commented Martin Schneider, Sales and Marketing Director Germany for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “MGS4 is nothing short of a masterpiece – an epic conclusion to the Solid Snake story. We are extremely pleased with the positive feedback we have received from retail and consumers alike, and will keep satisfying their needs with updates to the game’s ‘Extra’ option, and via new content to Metal Gear Online.”
Designed as a complement to the long-running Metal Gear Solid series, the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database is a comprehensive archive detailing characters, weapons and plot elements from 1987’s original Metal Gear title right through to the most recent Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns of the Patriots.
“Getting access to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to produce this magazine meant that we could produce a unique guide that lifts the lid on the game that every PlayStation 3 owner can’t wait to play. Everyone wants to know how Hideo Kojima will bring the Metal Gear series to what is expected to be its ultimate conclusion” says Editorial Director, Dan Hutchinson. In addition to delivering an in-depth tour of the new game, the magazine includes an exclusive interview with Hideo Kojima, as well as providing readers with a look back at the twenty years of Metal Gear through the video gaming ages. Available in English, French, Italian and German, and complete with hi-resolution screens, interactive elements and gameplay video, all available directly on the magazine pages, this official guide from Konami is a must-read for all Metal Gear fans.
