The multiplayer update is scheduled to arrive in early August, and to celebrate the new content, on July 21, ZombieSmash! will be available to download for free from the App Store, while its iPad cousin, ZombieSmash! HD, will be on sale for only $0.99.
In the new ZombieSmash! multiplayer upgrade, the lone survivor, Joey, discovers he is not the lone survivor, after all. Danny, another heavily armed holdout, has also braved the zombie apocalypse and defended his home with an equally outrageous arsenal of weaponry. Unfortunately, the survivors’ extreme paranoia is keeping them from working together, and the world of ZombieSmash! simply isn’t big enough for the two of them!
The new multiplayer gameplay will include:
• Play head-to-head in a battle to out-survive your rival, with the last man standing as the victor
• Split your resources between defensive weapons to keep the zombies at bay, and offensive maneuvers to direct powerful zombies at your opponent
• Integrated Game Center support for easy matchmaking and (un)healthy competition against friends
• Voice chat for trash-talking from across the country
