Their award winning professional maritime simulator Ship Simulator Professional was selected for the opening ceremony of the show. The Prime Minster of the Netherlands, Jan Peter Balkenende, officially opened the exhibition by sailing through the virtual Port of Rotterdam using VSTEP's simulator.

“Our extensive knowledge and experience in creating award-winning simulation tools for flexible, low cost professional maritime training, has given us a perfect base for our entertainment series of Ship Simulation games”, said Frank Dolmans, CMO of VSTEP. “Our games offer a unique blend of authentic maritime experiences with challenging, fun and unexpected gameplay bringing out the inner master mariner in every gamer”, he continued.

Besides professional maritime training simulators, VSTEP has also successfully created the Ship Simulator game series. The next installment in the series is Ship Simulator Extremes, where VSTEP are challenging virtual captains and ship lovers worldwide to take the helm and show if they have what it takes to be a real ship captain! Ship Simulator Extremes is scheduled for release in Q2 2010.
