Artix Entertainment’s MMORPG AdventureQuest Worlds today welcomed its 10 millionth registered player.

Launched at the end of October, 2008, AdventureQuest Worlds’ average growth rate of 1.1 million players per month is four times faster than the growth rate of the U.S. population.

Batman: Arkham Asylum Video Game to be released this Friday - with video

In Batman: Arkham Asylum, BATMAN finds himself trapped inside the confines of Gotham’s psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane, ARKHAM ASYLUM. THE JOKER has set a trap for the DARK KNIGHT and has conspired with the deranged inmates to eliminate Batman once and for all. Adding to the authenticity of the game are veteran animated Batman voice talents Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy, who reprise their roles as The Joker and Batman respectively.

Batman: Arkham Asylum features an original story by Paul Dini, Batman author and five-time Emmy Award winner whose credits include Lost season one and Batman: The Animated Series. Gamers will move in the shadows, instill fear amongst their enemies and confront The Joker and Gotham City's most notorious villains, including Harley Quinn, Bane, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, and Scarecrow, who have taken over the asylum.

Dungeon Party PC video game Welcomes Its First New Class!

Cyanide, the Paris-based video game development studio, announce the addition of a brand-new class for Dungeon Party, its madcap and fast moving, dungeon crawling free-to-play. The Bard joins the hilarious trio composed of the Wizard, the Thief and the Executioner and, just like his companions, he will break heroic fantasy codes by playing neither harp nor lute, but rock ’n’ roll.

The Bard brings new gamezplay mechanics to Dungeon Party as well as new possibilities for 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 games, with both an attacking and defensive support role. Using his instruments and vocal ‘talents’ he boosts team-mates while preventing enemies from casting spells, using actions or moving normally. When he sings, flashy 3D effects are displayed, matching his rock ’n’ roll behavior.

Polyphony Solo is one example of the spells available to the Bard class : Polyphony was popular in Europe during the late Middle Ages and Renaissance and the Bard is determined to resurrect it as a musical genre. Denki Video Game Developers Sponsoring British Matchplay Scrabble Championship

The 2009 British Matchplay Scrabble Championships will be sponsored by digital toy factory Denki, creators of the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade game Quarrel.

Denki has contributed to the overall prize fund and will be on site during the tournament to demonstrate Quarrel, pick the brains of competitors and use their feedback to make sure the game is thoroughly enjoyable, rock solid and even more awesome than ever.

The BMSC is organised by the Association of British Scrabble Players (www.absp.org.uk) and is the most prestigious and high-profile event in the British Scrabble calendar. Drawing in the country’s top players, it not only finds Britain’s champion Scrabble player, but puts forward the UK's additional wild card entrant into the World Championships (which this year fact fans, takes place in Malaysia).
