A source we consider reliable has told TVGB that Activision is looking to licence music for “Call of Duty 7,” music that gives some serious hints as to the locations the game may take us. Mentioned were Vietnam War era tunes, as well as Cuban, African, and Soviet Union music. The source says Call of Duty: World at War’s senior producer Noah Heller is involved, so it looks like Treyarch is once again developing.
Credibility to the change from WWII is added by Heller himself who last year said they “are showing the final battles of the Pacific and the European Theatre and that lets us put a close to the war. I’m sure game companies will be making World War II games for years to come and World War II is a very classic war. But we’re happy that we put the war to bed.”

Industry analyst Michael Pachter has predicted that none of the big three console manufacturers – Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft – will release a new console before at least 2013, according to a report on Edge Online.
“We do not expect a 'new' console in 2010 (other than the long-rumoured high definition Wii, which is likely to upgrade the Wii to current console technology),” he said. “We do not expect the ‘next’ generation to begin before 2013, if at all.
“We remain convinced that the publishers will resist the introduction of any video game hardware technology that requires a refresh of software, as the publishers have as yet to capitalise on the immense investments made in being competitive in the current cycle.”
This follows Patcher’s earlier predictions that Sony's PlayStation 3 will end up being the eventual ‘winner’ of the current console war, largely on the back of the success of the Blu-Ray format. Mythic Entertainment today announced the start of Bitter Rivals, the first in-game event marking the start of the new Call to Arms live expansion for its award-winning MMORPG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR).
Bitter Rivals, which takes place from March 3rd to March 10th, gives players a chance to earn valuable in-game rewards and unlock the new Dwarf Slayer and Orc Choppa careers for head start play.
The live event includes the new Twisting Tower, an exclusive Realm vs. Realm Scenario which will only be available during Bitter Rivals. The scenario, which takes place in a ruined Chaos temple above a perilous vortex in the Chaos Wastes, pits Order against Destruction as they battle for control of the temple while avoiding the purging fires of a vengeful god.
Bitter Rivals marks the start of the massive Call to Arms live expansion that will continue over the next few months with additional live events and new in-game content. The Call to Arms culminates with the launch of the Land of the Dead, a massive new dungeon zone set in the deserts of the Tomb Kings.

Microsoft will lower the price of the Xbox 360 Arcade model by 8,000 yen ($73.92) to 19,800 yen. The Arcade does not come equipped with a hard drive and is the least expensive of the three Xbox 360 models, the Nikkei said.
The new price will make the machine cheaper than Nintendo’s Wii, which sells for about 25,000 yen, and the PlayStation 3, which sells for 39,800 yen.
