Match Your Skills Against The Best Tennis Players In The World.
Hardcourt Balls, a unique adaptation of the popular sport offering a fast-paced gameplay experience featuring dice and turn-based mechanics. Scheduled for an Early Access release on STEAM late 2026, Hardcourt Balls aims to capture some of the nuances and excitement that make tennis such a great sport and strives to fill the void for a competitive and feature-packed download.
Hardcourt Balls is no ordinary tennis game: using just a basic set of rules, the roll of dice and the tactical use of skill cards, the game stands out with its compelling mechanics. Hardcourt Balls allow you to create your personalized avatar and play in Exhibition Matches, Tournaments, or even partake in Full-Season and Career Modes; gain experience, earn prize money, hire coaches and improve your skills and abilities. Produced with a passion for the game, Hardcourt Balls is not about gamepad acrobatics but instead captures more of the essence of actual tennis - the tactical battle for the upper hand with every stroke.
Hardcourt Balls strives to provide the most accurate implementation of the sport in a straightforward way, with emphasis on the tactical aspect of real tennis. You target a tile on the court you want to hit the ball to and roll the dice and compare what you rolled with the number you need to hit the target. If you rolled that number or higher, your aim is accurate: the ball lands on target! AND if you roll higher than the required number, the excess value will be deducted from the opposing players return roll! If you rolled under, your shot could go wild: for each number under the required target, you roll one dice to determine where the ball "scatters" to. If the ball lands out of bounds, it's a FAULT and you lose the point. If the ball lands "in", the opposing player must now return it. He determines his target and must roll, but - depending on how far he had to move to reach the ball, and how high you rolled, may have to roll a higher number. This sequence repeats until the ball is out. Player skills and several other modifications can affect the dice rolls significantly. In addition, players can develop "critical skills" that can be used once per set, and, when used right, can give them the edge in a close match.
Hardcourt Balls also implements a superbly executed progression system: Rather than simply gaining experience points, players must find, hire and use the right coaches to improve their skills over time. You may participate in exhibition matches or play full tournaments to collect precious prize money, funds that you can use to find and hire a coach, offering the skills you are seeking to improve. For every completed match, you earn a coach token allowing you to do a skill roll.
Hardcourt Balls is already a fully playable game. The developer aims to add a ton of cool features to the Early Access release later this year, including an extensive Season Mode, Career Mode, a true multiplayer mode, in which you can play online against opponents in 1-1 matches and 32-128 human player tournaments. Other features currently in the works are the global player league and ranking system, extensive customization of player features and accessories and so much more!
